Guest guest
Concerning fibromyalgia and CFS, I do a therapy called Electro-Lyphatic Therapy that has been amazing for my clients, they have reported being pain free for weeks and some for good. Jilly Today I went to see a new therapist who practices Su Jok acupuncture. I am concerned to read elsewhere that you can be trained in under three days to do this form of acupuncture. Should I be, and has anyone here had positive results from this therapy? Secondly, he used micro-needles to stimulate points on my hands, taken from a jar in which they were submerged in 98% alcohol. He assured me that they were new, and gave me the needles in a vial filled with alcohol to take home and bring back for my next treatment. I am uneasy about this approcah to need storage on his behalf - should I be? I have had traditional acupuncture on many occasions, and have always had needles taken from sterile blister packs which are then discarded in a yellow bin for hazardous medical waste. I've moved areas, and am desperate for pain relief for fibromyalgia and CFS, and am due to have another appointment tomorrow, but feel uneasy..... J. Guest guest
If you feel uneasy about someones treatments, look for another therapist.. I never heard about a therapist who asked the patient to look after the needles, I think that's not the way it should be. I, as a therapist myself, like to know for sure that the needles I use are sterile. If I give them to the patient I don't know what happens to them. Secondly, reused needles are less sharp then new ones. wish you the best, Jolanda jamesblonde112000 [jamesblonde112000] dinsdag 18 januari 2005 19:02 acupuncture acupuncture Urgent Help please - Su Jok/sterile needles Today I went to see a new therapist who practices Su Jok acupuncture. Guest guest
Doctors and accupuncture is like anything else. Find a doctor that you are comfortable with and who you believe is doing a good job. It might take some shopping but it will be worth it. jamesblonde112000 <jamesblonde112000 wrote: Today I went to see a new therapist who practices Su Jok acupuncture. Guest guest
There is nothing wrong with Su Jok acupuncture per-se. I don't have any personal experience with it, but like many Microsystems of acupuncture Korean hand and foot acupuncture can provide dramatic results when done properly. Find someone who has a lot of training and experience as that can make all the difference. In the United States an acupuncturist would loose their license for using needles in such a manner as you describe. I don't know how acupuncturists are licensed in the UK, but here in the States I would not recommend seeing anyone who was not trained extensively with Chinese medicine. Look for L.Ac. or D.O.M. (depending on the State) after their names. Ask about their credentials and where they were trained. Some chiropractors and MD's are quite good at acupuncture too, but their training is typically far less for acupuncture than a Licensed Acupuncturist. If one of my patients felt uneasy about anything I did during a treatment I would want them to bring it to my attention so I could either explain why or what I was doing, or could refer them to someone else who the may feel more comfortable with. You are in charge, it is your health and your money. Don't feel intimidated! A healing relationship is critical to success. Fibromyalgia can successfully be treated using Chinese medicine. I personally know several people that have essentially eliminated all of their symptoms. Acupuncture is a potentially power means of shifting the energy of the body, and should only be preformed by someone who knows what they are doing. Good luck! Guest guest
Thank you for all your comments about my posting . I did not go back for further treament and cancelled my further appointments i do not like using needles twice and having to look after them myself i feel is wrong . I was really intimidated by this therapist ,never again . Chinese herbal medicine did not help my fibromyalgia/ cfs one bit ,yes i did this for a year or more . In the uk i use to get slight pain relief from acupuncture and have been going for over ten years in the uk but have moved to spain now and am trying to find pain relief. . thanks again for your helpful comments. Guest guest
I can understand why your therapist is doing this. In Europe there are no sujok needles available (the ones there are, are not magnetic and cannot be used in the injectors). So we use korean needles that come sterile in packets of ten. Keeping them in alcohol after you open the packet is a way of keeping them clean. Also they are a rare commodity so he might want to use them again. Before needles where available in blisters we often kept patients needles apart for reuse we then used heat sterilisation, but that is no longer alowed. I never had any problems in these days though Greetings Rob Jansen. The all-new My - Get yours free!
Guest guest
Hi I did not read your previous posts or anwsers as I have been traveling. I read a case study in which fibromyalgia was successfully treated with Bach Flower Remedies. I find this interesting because in all the cases of this disorder that I have treated the patients had a lot of anger and rage. From a OM point of view the most common pattern was damp heat and the use of herbs was also very helpful. I have treated this very successfully so I am interested in the fact with lots of treatment you have not had much luck. Best Wishes, Bobbi

Guest guest
Bobbi Thanks for your comments, I can't comment on the rage and anger only that i don't think i have much only that i'm upset cos i'm sick & that gets me down( but some therapist may say otherwise who really knows ) , I was told by my uk acupuncturist it was damp heat as you say and i had build up of mucus in muscles( balls of sticky mucus in muscle causing the chronic pain ) ..i have used many herbs over the years both chinese( boil and drink ) and western .. they did nothing, the bach flower remedies also did nothing i did them for well over a year . I even went to the Reading school/ college of chinese herbal medicine and acupunture to be treated in he uk without success when i lived there . At the moment i'm using undenatured whey( immunepro) which is helping and also a Spanish mineral supplement called recuperation which they all use in Spain for fms or cfs which also is helping & Enada which helps the drop dead fatigue of the chronic fatigue, the dry climate also helps slightly here in the Canary islands .
