<< Can anyone explain to me what is " Four Needle Technique " ? >>

I believe the Four Needle Technique is a Korean approach to

acupuncture. It was briefly spoken about in a class of mine, but I

did find an explanitation in the book

" Student Manual on the Fundamentals of TCM " composed by Tyme, Lac. It

uses the control/ko cycle as well as the mother/son cycle, as well as

horary points, or Master points.

" First determine which organ system is out of balance, Second,

determine whether the imbalance is either excess or deficient.

Note-when choosing points to move qi, use the yin organ points for

affected yin organs, and yang organ points for affected yang organs.

Deficient:

tonify the horary point of the mother organ

tonify the mother organ's element point on the affected organ

sedate the horary point of the controlling organ

sedate the controlling organ's element point on the affected organ

Excess

tonify the horary point of the controlling organ

tonify the controlling organ's element point on the affected organ

sedate the horary point on the son organ

sedate the son organ's element point on the affected organ

Example-Client with deficient Lung

Tonify the horary point of the mother organ (Sp3), tonify the mother

organ's element point on the affected channel (Lu 9). Sedate the

horary point of the controlling (grandmother) organ (Ht 8), sedate

the controlling (grandmother) organ's element point on the affected

organ (Lu 10).

Hope this helps

Lauren
