Guest guest
Friends, Isn't it a matter of great pride to all of us that Dr Sanjay Gupta has been nominated to be chosen as the Surgeon General of USA. The Surgeon General of the United States is the operational head of the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (PHSCC) and thus the leading spokesperson on matters of public health in the federal government. Sanjay Gupta (born October 23, 1969) is an Indian-American physician and a contributing CNN chief health correspondent based in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a University professor as also a frequent guest on the news program Anderson Cooper 360°. From 1997 to 1998, he served as one of fifteen White House Fellows, primarily as an advisor to Hillary Clinton. Gupta currently publishes a column in TIME magazine. He is also host of House Call with Dr Sanjay Gupta. His book Chasing Life was a New York Times and National bestseller. He is married to fellow University of Michigan graduate Rebecca Sue who is an Atlanta family law attorney. They have two daughters, Sage Ayla Gupta and Skye Gupta. He is the son of parents Subhash Gupta and Damayanti Gupta who moved from India in the 1960s to work at a Ford plant. While the Gupta duo would have gone to the US to search for a greener pasture, their son has today made them proud by his huge achievement, that too at a very young age. It just shows what are the potentialities of an average Indian, which often remains unused and subdued due to lack of opportunities. Isn't it a great achievement for someone whom we can claim to be so near us all? It does make us all very proud of Dr Gupta as of ourselves.
