Guest guest
I have had a major system failure and had to do a desructive recovery so I have lost everything that was on my computer and will need to reinstall all the programs I still have my older files on Cds but I broke the back up disk I had just made so my recent files and drafts and artwork are completely gone. It took me from 7 Am til noon just to get the operating system working so I am a bit punchy at the moment . Anyway my return to activity from my holiday break may be a bit delayed because of this. Guest guest
Let this remind everyone: 1. Always make one or two backups of valuable data 2. Invest in System Restore, Ghost, GoBack or some type of software that recovers your data - and then make sure it is creating the necessary backups and saves. 3. Invest in security software - antivirus and firewall. 4. Do system maintenance regularly - disk clean up, defrag, virus scan, and so on. All right, I'll get off my computer testing soap box. Guest guest
Yes, there is that. Sometimes the failsafes dont' come through. and yes the Universe does take a dump on us now and then. :-) Like Monty Python sings: " Life's a piece of shit, When you look at it, Life's a laugh and Death's a joke, it's true. " You'll see it's all a show Keep 'em laughing as you go and remember that the last laugh is on you!
