Guest guest
Some acupuncture needles have a coating of silicon which some people are allergic to. Also, if you are allergic to chromium, the stainless steel of the needle may cause a reaction as you describe. I have never seen a single patient react as you describe to the needles, but have heard of such cases. They are pretty rare, but if they are happening to you that doesn't much matter. If it is the steel you are allergic to (very, very rare), have the acupuncturist use needles with the silicon coating (such as Japanese Sirens). If it is the silicon (very rare), use simple stainless steel (most needles). If it is both, there are silver and gold plated needles available but most acupuncturists don't use these. If you continue to get such a reaction acupuncture may not be the best modality for you. Good luck! Christopher Vedeler L.Ac., C.Ht. Oasis Acupuncture http://www.oasisacupuncture.com 8233 N. Guest guest
Are you getting acupuncture with silicone-coated needles? Try getting acupuncture from needles without coating and see what happens. You could be allergic to the silicone. acupuncture , " emailme_marilyn " <emailme_marilyn wrote: > > my husband and friends have nice experience with acupuncture. > but me on the other hand always have eczema-like rashes on the ac > points afterward.
