Sandy,

I urge you to sick with it. I had a kidney disorder when I was 12,

where my waste products where getting put back into my system. It

gave me migranes and almost killed me, if my mom didn't take me

finally to an acupuncturist.

For 2 years doctors tried to diagnose my condition, but since I

didn't have any disease they just couldn't find anything.

If you have had pain for a long time, as I see you have, acupuncture

is not a quick fix..it will take time for you body to heal. But make

sure you share you concerns with your L.Ac. I believe that after 2

months you should fee some relief. My prayers and thoughts are with

you.

Thank you,

Sandy,

Other than the nature and cause of the pain,

results depend on the acupuncturist's training,

style, and preference.

Personally, I believe acupuncturists should be

comfortable with multiple styles so that if one

isn't working, they can try another one.

I've written about the various styles in this

article:

http://www.pulsemed.org/localdistal.htm

Another issue is, of course, if the pain is caused

by something that could be best alleviated by

another therapy, or if there is no therapy to change

the cause... e.g. structural problems like slipped

vertebra discs, broken bones, tumors, etc.

That's why no medicine can do it alone- and

it's dangerous for those patients who are so averse

to western medicine that they won't even go in for

tests.

All the best!

B
