Guest guest
Hi John (as discussed, this is the repost), sorry about the delay - didn't get round to reading my mails until midday today and then was with clients til now. ok, pre conditioning.....I mention EFT when a client brings up something that I think will respond well to EFT. I tel them that this is a technique which counters the anchoring of emotions in their energy field and which has been shown to work well in cases like theirs. Up to that point, all is well. Then I mention the set up phrase and that is where they baulk. People just seem to have great difficulty saying that they accept themselves (in other words they don't accept themselves for who they are). The very thing that we are trying to work with prevents them from accessing the method. I havea client who has a severe testicular infection and is in great pain. I ran through the procedure twic e with him - he very reluctantly agreed to do it. He says he noticed no difference in the pain and has refused to do it again. I have tried asking him what he has to lose (nothing) and what he has to gain (no pain) but he just replies that the method doesn't suit him and he won't do it. This is a recurring theme even with clients who notice a change in their score after EFT so I am concluding that is me and my approach. I have translated the set up phrase into french and kept the meaning of the original one. I have even tried modifying it slightly along the lines that have been suggested on the EFT group, to take into account personal styles but all this to no avail. What a bummer!!!! What think you? Guest guest
Hi, Good question! I seem to experience the same problem too when performing EFT on myself. I feel like a fool talking to myself and have some resistance to saying I accept myself.(are you supposed to say it out loud or in your mind?) Also, I find it hard to keep focussng on the reminder phrase when I'm tapping, my mind seems to wander to other, related thoughts. Also, if I understand correctly, you're supposed to be focussing on the issue you're trying to fix, but usually I feel quite detached from it when speaking the setup and reminder phrases. But then when the feelings hit me over the head, I don't feel like doing the drills. Have a nice day Tim
Guest guest
Oh, and besides, does anyone know how chinosis and EFT compare, they seem quite similar yet chinosis looks more appealing to me. Well, I'll just try it out this afternoon and see how it works. Tim
