As with some, on occasions it makes me squirm a little--but it's at exactly those moments that I'm inclined (forced?) to look into the topic (whatever it is) a little deeper, to look also within myself. The first time I encountered a " Do the damn drills " post, I blanched, but then it was honesty time--was I doing them? (well, yes, er...sometimes) Was I doing them as often as I should? (nope) Result? Since reading maybe the third one of those DTDD posts, it's been a long while since I skipped one of the EM drills! They only work when you actually do them, apparently. Sometimes a good teacher doesn't tell us what we WANT to hear, but what we NEED to hear. They might not say it the way we'd like to hear it either, but in a way that cuts through the fluff we sometimes use for brains. In other words, Doc gets through where others might not. But of course Mr. X's " mileage might vary " as they say. Guest guest
OK, you asked for thoughts on this so here goes....yes I do think that you sometimes (actually very rarely these days) shoot from the hip and some people react to that. However, every single person I know shoots from the hip occasionally - myself included. To say that EM people should be any different is to ignore the fact that we all live in the real world, it places an unfair (I think) obligation on EM workers to be somehow holier than thou. I also think that the big picture is important. The big picture is that you share your knowledge with people who ask for help/advice etc. You take the time to do this and to explain why and how to do things, giving references to support your suggestions. The big pictue is not, for me, that you occasionally rub people up the wrong way. So maybe things could be said in a different way which might push a few less buttons but then again if the people whose buttons get pushed can look at that and change their behaviour then isn't that positive and progress? It seems to me like Mr X takes the view that one thing must exclude another. I don't share that view. Being on the EM group does not mean I can't participate in other groups. I respect Donna and David ( along with other energy workers) but that does not mean either that I feel unable to hold a different opinion from them. For me, respect is actually about being able to state my truth to someone who holds a different view to me. If there is no respect then those views can't be expressed. A while back the EM group got all heated up. Accusations were flying around all over the place and tempers were frayed. What remains of that today? Nothing - it was a storm in a tea cup but people took it very seriously...... Those are some of my thoughts...Cris - docspeed2001 energyhealing-essentialskills Wednesday, February 23, 2005 9:10 PM [energyhealing-essentialskills] Doc, I think you are making a big mistake (Following is a private post from a concerned person. I'm sharing it with the list. What do you think? )I was wondering if you were aware of the ripple effects from your posts?Do you consider Donna still as one of your teachers, that you respect or not?I think if your intentions were to "attract" Donna Eden's folks over to your new list, then do you think you could've handled it any better than you did?If you continue being truthfully harsh and inconsiderate to those folks, then I wouldn't be surprised if they treat you like the SS folks did, when you took your eyes off the big picture of things.I may be off, If I am. sorry.I just never thought of a bunch of healers had to be so advesarial, to get their point across.I think when Barbara made her announcement to quit and close the list ,that your TW got set off, as well as most others. I didn't know you enjoyed letting your TW get the best of you, if it did. What do you think Donna would think of your posts? or say to you, if she read them too? If you don't care, thats cool.If you do, thats cool also.Just thought I would make an observations and give my opinion and let you choose whatever path you want to pave for your happiness, health, wealth and peace of mind.Mr. Xp.s. I found it easier to just keep track of all the folks email addresses and invite them to a new list, if Barb's list does shut down. No Big Deal. Guest guest
Hello All, In regard's to Doc John's words that were taken as a mistake because _______ (fill in with your ideas). As far as I can tell each of us set ourselves up for conflict (i.e. arguments, disagreements, rejection, etc...) and we do it quite regularly. I suspect we aren't arguing with the other person we are arguing with their patterns (unconscious) or as one Energy teacher says the writings on our walls are not the same as the writings on their walls. If we were to change our pattern around one concept then what I'm about to write will make sense. Doc John did what he did, he did not make a mistake. The only way he could have made a mistake is if he did not learn something from the interact. (This is very unlikely considering who I'm talking about.) I suggest it might be useful to change the writings on our walls around the meaning of the word " success " . If we were to define success as what we learned then right or wrong, mistake or perfect, and taking things personal would happen less and less. And the more we focus on what we learned the more we get away from rejection. After all isn't that pretty much in line with the energy model? There is nothing better out there and believe me, I've looked. You can build any business or get any idea out there, no matter what it is.
