How to Prevent holiday pounds with your fingertips. I recently heard this time of year called "eating season" and it's easy to see why. We jump from Halloween, a holiday created just for you to eat the lovely treats your kids bring home, to the endless dishes that show up as the days approach Thanksgiving and usually are in your face each day as left overs or snacks for the office into Christmas and after till new years comes when you make your new years resolution to loose weight! That run on sentence is the perfect reflection of food at this time. It seems to never end! Your coworkers bring in foods for the office. They think it's love, You may feel it's torture. You sit there looking at the box of luscious pastries, crisp homemade chocolate cookies, or the cheddar popcorn that you can't wait to pop in your mouth and then there is the pumpkin pie and mmm... Just thinking about it makes you salivate. I know I am. But you pay for it don't you. What do they say "a minute on the lips forever on the hips. You're around all that food and even if you don't' have any major issues around eating you say to yourself "I'm just going to taste a bite" and then one taste leads to the next and the next and before you know it your pants are just a bit tighter. You seem to put on five pounds just by breathing! Damn! you say to yourself. Next year I'm going to create rules for myself, I'll control myself better. I've just got to decide. But it's so hard when all that yummy food is in front of me! Can you relate to this? I used to go through such a struggle dealing with food issues. Now its gone in a few taps of my fingers. It's not a typo, I didn't mean snaps I meant taps. Sounds crazy? Well it's not, It's so simple a child can do it yet the issues that this process can heal covers everything from health to emotional pain of all kinds to fears and self limiting beliefs of all kinds. The process is called Emotional Freedom techniques (EFT). EFT is quickly becoming known throughout the world as one of the most powerful healing and self mastery tools available. EFT is based on the discovery that all negative emotions and physical pain come from a disturbed energy field. Eastern healing traditions have known this for centuries and use the energy channels called meridians to treat illness on all levels. EFT allows us to do the same. Craving is a light version of a disturbed energy field. I'm going teach you how to handle a craving so that the next time you see that pecan pie with the whip cream you'll be able to sit with everyone eating it and not even want it. Now that's power!! Ok. Ready? I want you to think of a food you'd love to eat. Make yourself really want it. Image the color, the smell, feel it in your mouth, remember the taste. Notice how intense your craving is. Now I want you stay tuned into your craving and do this simple tapping sequence. 1. Find the fleshy area on the side of your hand between the bottom of your pinky and the top of your wrist. Take one hand and tap into the karate chop area of the other hand while repeating the sentence below three times. "Even though I have this craving I deeply and completely accept myself." 2. Then, staying tuned into your craving tap your fingers tips about 7 times on each acupuncture points below. · Top of your head · Brow ( where brow meets the bridge of nose)· Side of eye (in front of temple)· Under eye (on the cheek bone)· Under nose· Between mouth and chin· Where your collar bone meets your rib near your breast bone· Under your arm (about 4 inches below your arm pit) 3. Repeat this tapping cycle 3 times always tuning in and even saying the words "this craving." If you still have some of the craving left repeat the cycle from the beginning until your craving is gone. The more you do this process the quicker your cravings go away. Do this with each food you crave and you'll find that you'll begin to lose weight while everyone else is putting pounds on. Holidays will be a time for you to choose your treats instead of them choosing you. Now that's a great holiday gift!
