Guest guest
This upcoming month I will be filling up my local library with crystals. I belong to a gem and mineral club. At our monthly meeting, I asked members to help me with this process. The president brought over some items, and he had a child size fist of Aragonite. I looked it up in the updated Melody book. There wasn't much on it. I would appreciate any experiences with it or information. Send me positive crystal energy as I fill the cases and library with crystals on November 1st. Thanks, Angela
Guest guest
Hello all- Aragonite is a really wonderful stone... glad to see it being discussed here. A few quick notes that may help alleviate the confusion.... > I am kinda confused, on further searching I found two differant > versions of what Aragonite is, first was this one(looked like a > tigers eye in the picture) it was at > http://www.apathtowholeness.com/aragonite.htm I tried this link, but unfortunately it didn't work so I couldn't see the photo.... > The second one the picture is entirely differant and looks > rather like calcite. Aragonite has the same chemical composition as calcite. They are dimorphic. In fact, there is a very unsual third mineral that has the same chemistry as aragonite and calcite, making this a trimorphic group of stones. One of the primary differences between aragonite and calcite has to do with the ionic structures of the crystals (which can reveal a great deal about the way energy moves through the stones). There is also a pressure/temperature relationship between calcite & aragonite, which is one factor that determines whether the calcium carbonate becomes aragonite or whether it becomes calcite. Scientists consider aragonite a curious mineral in many cases because while they have many factors that can determine the calcium carbonate's growth and eventual manifestation, there are still cases where they remain unsure why aragonite formed instead of calcite and vice versa. This hints at aragonites connection with the Divine Feminine and the mysteries that rest beyond measurements and models. Aragonite comes in many colors ranging from red, brown, tan, white, violet, green, blue, etc. The most commonly seen form is the " sputnik " type cluster found in the red-orange-tan shades. The reddish colors of aragonite relate, among other things, to the power of the feminine energy. This octave of aragonite resonates with the monthly cycle that women experience and can teach women the mysteries and magic inherent in that time. It is related with the earthly expressions of feminine energy. The white variety of aragonite represents the purification power of the sacred light of Spirit. It is linked with the energies of Sophia. It opens our consciousness to divine revelation and understanding through the crown center. It can be used in certain initiatory rites for purification of the individual and space on many levels. The violet aragonite is generally always found with green mixed with it. This represents the divine vision that expands from the heart center, allowing us to see through the eyes of love. The stone spirits of the violet/green aragonite help us find our path in life that is truly ours - the road that has " meaning and heart " . The blue and blue green aragonite, sometimes also mixed with white, is a cooling spirit that embodies Divine Grace. It eases anger, tension and increases our ability to flow through our life. All of this is very " tip of the iceberg " as each variety of aragonite has so much more to it. However, I wanted to share a brief bit here... There are also some very interesting pseudomorphs involving aragonite... including a copper pseudomorph of aragonite, a fluorite pseudomorph of aragonite and a chalcedony pseudomorph of aragonite. Each of these have their own unique energy expression as well. In the spirit of sharing, Fabeku
