Clairvoyance Trials

JAPAN BIOEMISSION LABORATORY

By Dick Allgire

One of the very interesting presentations at the New Science Symposium

in Seoul, Korea was given by Dr. Mikio Yamamoto of the International

Society of Life Information Science. He detailed the fascinating

research being conducted at the Japan Bioemission Laboratory.

Yamamoto presented some data from Clairvoyance Trials conducted in

Japan, which resemble work done in 1939 by Rene Warcollier in France.

Photographs were placed in envelopes and test subjects concentrated on

them and drew sketches of what they perceived. Some of the results

were quite impressive.

Japanese researchers at the National Institute of Radiological

Sciences Bio-Emission Laboratory conducted a five-year study of

consciousness, qigong, anomalous perception, and extrasensory

perception. Using sophisticated equipment they analyzed various body

functions, from brain waves to pulse and respiration. Electrodes and

sensors measured skin temperature, electro dermal activity, EEG, ECG,

breathing, magnetic field, and photoplethysmorgram.

In one experiment researchers tried to determine if action taken by a

qigong master known as " Toh-ate " caused a reaction that was

more than

mere suggestion. The qigong master was emitting from the fourth floor

of a building. The shielded " receiver " was on the first floor.

When the master performed a remote tohate action the master's

qi-emitting motion time and his pupil's (receiver) response time

(start of recoil) were recorded. The coincidence frequency within plus

or minus 5.5 seconds was 16. The expected value was 7.88 in 49 trials.

The results were said to be statistically significant, suggesting an

unknown communication mechanism between the sender and receiver.

EEG's

of the receiver were recorded. The qi-emission was performed at a

random time selected during a one-minute interval by the experimenter.

In 57 trials the receiver showed a statistically significant

difference between the emitting and non-emitting times in the

amplitudes of the EEG's for the right frontal part of the brain.

This

suggests that extrasensory information transfer took place and that it

is related to the right frontal part of the brain.

Another experiment involved a qigong master and an ordinary person

placed in a sensory-shielded state within a metal box and anomalous

perception by qigong was attempted while both were connected to

electroencephalographs. The sender transmitted qi during randomly

selected half-minute periods. Over 20 trials, the receiver was not

able to perceive the true sending time with any statistical

significance. However a statistically significant difference was

observed in the alpha wave amplitude in the receiver's

electroencephalogram. This occurred between the sending and

non-sending time zones at the corresponding region to her somatic

sensory and motor area in the period 13 to 17 seconds from the start

of the task. This result suggests the existence of anomalous

perception in the subconscious.

They also duplicated research conducted by Dean Radin where test

subjects were shown either calm peaceful photographs or stressful,

violent photographs. The subjects reacted to the photos before

actually seeing them.

According to Dr. Yamamoto there is great interest in Japan in the

field of human potential science. Dr. Yamamoto feels that the 20th

century was a materialistic time and the 21st century will be more

about consciousness and spirituality. He and his fellow researchers

are leading the change as Japan explores human potential.
