I never seem to notice if something is EASY or not. Just, do I WANT IT?

Doc, I saw a lot of heavy sh-- going down on a daily basis in the

neighborhood I grew up in. The neighborhood was going downhill, but

my parents were the type that didn't believe in giving-in to it. No

one was going to drive them out of their home. They could have well

afforded to move.

When I was 12 my best friend's father was murdered as he walked out

to his car in the morning in front of our house. As I slept the

sniper waited under my window for him. I heard the shots like they

were right next to my head......My friend's father was lying there,

completely still in a huge pool of bright red blood that spread out

over the slushy snow.....the only thing I was thinking was, " I didn't

know a body could hold so much blood. " ....maybe I was in a state of

shock? I don't know.

My parents sent me off to school that morning and acted as if nothing

had happened. Never once talked about it with us. I jumped the back

fence to go to school because I didn't want to walk by his body lying

in front of our house. My parents still didn't move from there.....

Then there was the time I was home alone one summer day when I was 16

and someone broke into our house not realizing I was there until they

saw me standing there pointing my father's loaded rifle at them,

telling them to get the f--- out!

By the way he did take the time to train us how to use his rifles and

always kept them loaded.... I love that great right of ours to bear

arms! They caught the guys after I recognized one of them from

mugshots. My parents still didn't move....

As soon as I got out of highschool, I left, went to college in a

faraway state and with scholarships and student loans and a job I put

myself through. Took me longer that way but I did it. I only once

went back to visit my family one year at Christmas....they wondered

why.

Their house was broken into a couplemore times that I am aware of

after I left....They still didn't move.

They wonder why I chose to live in a solitary place near the

mountains with my husband on the other side of the country, on a

farm, in the middle of nowhere (according to them).....

Maybe all of that was a little bit of an " away from " motivation? And

as a result I was motivated to not be the way that they are and to

not just sit there and tolerate anything I don't find acceptable or

in my best interest, or that walks all over me, or that steals my

things, my energy or my time.

In answer to your question, life's pretty fantastic!.....and just

keeps getting better and better.......must be those Radiant Circuits

I've activated or something....or the UM RV/RI stuff, or the Hakalau,

or the Qigong, or mana or the Friendly Energies or the Goal Setting

or Anchoring or those drills upon drills I like so much..and so much

more in the plans...LOL!

Thanks Doc, and I appreciated your story.

Lori

(By the way, they did FINALLY move about 3 years afer I left home and

what a RELIEF that was for all of us.)

Doc,

Here you go on about Metaprograms again. Jeeze, you might think it's

REALLY IMPORTANT for us to figure out our own Metaprograms, huh?

....And to DO something about them if, just per chance, our life is

half empty, or half full with the water of time slowly spilling out.

You keep on holding up that damn mirror.

....And asking what I see when I look into it.

....And from a place deep inside I thank you every time you ask that

question.

Because I see things... and feel things... and hear myself talk about

things... that I " normally " never notice.

Its front, the world,

Its back,

The heart.

Metaprograms-

Metaprograms are filters through which we perceive the world. The old

maxim is the glass half full or half empty is an example.

Another example would be how two different people might approach an

argument. A person with what we would call an " away from " strategy

would be likely to be finding any way to get away from the conflict.

Someone using a " toward " strategy would be more likely to be heading

toward a specific goal, perhaps of finding an amicable solution to

the conflict. The primary differences between the two being, when

you're moving away from something, you never know what you may back

into.

When you change these filters, it can dramatically change how we

approach situations and how we perceive the world.

Or:

A process by which one sorts through multiple generalizations

simultaneously as such Meta Programs control how and when. A person

will engage in any set of strategies in a given context.

Somewhere else.
