Maybe you could take it to a jeweler?? I had a tennis bracelet that had CZs

set in 14K gold. One of the stones had come out and I took it to have it

put back in..they were only too happy to tell me they were NOT diamonds but

CZs.

Some people can feel the difference in energy or heat between quartz

and glass. It is quite common for clear glass to be called crystal.

Did the packaging say it was quartz crystal?

Quartz crystal often has unclear parts cracks etc. within. Glass is

usually perfectly clear and even.

you can also do a very quick muscle test (kinesiology style, tightly holding the

little finger to thumb together and then have someone pull these apart, testing

the strength)... holding the quartz in the recieving hand (Yin)... if the

finger/thumb grip stays strong it will quartz... weak will be glass...

if you would like to go deeper, then test the crystal (or literally anything) by

holding it against your solar plexus in your recieving hand (Yin... usually the

left hand for right handed people) and test the anterior deltoid of the the

other arm (in this case, the right arm will be raised directly out in front of

you, have somone apply pressure over wrist, not the hand... pushing gradually

towards the ground)... if the muscle stays strong then the crystal (or whatever

your are testing) is constructive to the body...
