Can you help me >out? Sure. I'm sure that they give you topics to choose from. So, first choose a topic that you are familiar with, and that you enjoy. When I was in college and took speech, my first speech was on self- defense BECAUSE I was great at S-D, having trained in various forms of it all my growing up years. So I took 3 simple skills I knew and taught them to the class. it took 10 minutes. And my speech was 10 minutes. So, like the material. Know the material. Make sure the materials are on topic for the course. Practice the materials until you can recite them while fast asleep. (just a note, even today, after giving presentations for over 40 years, I STILL practice, practice, practice, until the unconscious mind can do it during sleep time!) Now a simple energy drill for just before the speech presentation, assuming all the other stuff is done... Bring your left hand, to your solar plexus, with the thumb and index finger touching it so that your hand is now parallel to the floor... ....so that the back of the left hand is pointing up to your face... With the right hand, form a 3-finger notch (thumb, index finger & middle fingers are TOGETHER into one tapping instrument)... Now, on the back of the hand, between the ring finger and the little finger, between the bones on the back of the hand... Start tapping vigorously there WHILE thinking about your FEAR... And continue tapping until it goes away. It doesn't take much, about 15-20 taps is all. Now go and give the speech. There are more complex methods, but this is sufficient for now. ps. I got an " A " in speech. No one had a clue that I was anxious. And after awhile, I wasn't.
