Hi Guillermo!

I had what would be considered mild traumatic brain injury in Dec

2004. I fell and hit the back right side of my head on a cement

sidewalk. No skull fractures but 2 brain hemmorages...one at the sight

of the impact, the other was a contre coup injury in the middle of the

left lobe.

Although this was considered minor, I didn't find the neurologic

problems to be that minor. Driving, working, thinking, were out of the

question. I also lost my senses of smell and taste.

The only thing that has helped me recover was acupuncture. I saw a

dramatic result in the first session which encouraged me to continue

treatment. Within the first 6 - 8 sessions the fog lifted and I was

able to think again. To date I have logged 40 sessions and am still

healing but feeling much more myself.

I have to say my acupuncturist is the only medical person that has

actually helped me. The neurologist basically wants to see me every 3

months and ask me how I'm doing. Primary care person is almost as

useless with this issue.

Please don't give up. You have time on your side. My personal feeling

is that I would not have been this far along in my recovery without

acupuncture. It's worth giving it a try.

Best regards,

Lori
