I have heard this kind of diagnosis before . I tend to think cause and effect is hardly as simple as that . it is rather easy to make a quik call like this that does not make it so. Misuse use of crystals =Bipolar seems out of proportion to me of course I don't what kind of use of crystals we are talking about anyway . and if the lady had a problem/ imbalance and the work with the shaman/healer helped, I am happy for her. I had a friend a long time ago who attributed a strange skin problem to having unwittingly broken a religious taboo she did not see a doctor for years and a problem that could have been fixed with medicine or simple surgery killed her. This has colored my view of these kinds of cause -effect diagnosis You will find lists of the emotional /mental causes of all kinds of conditions and diseases all over the net they can be a useful guide for your consideration but should not be taken as absolute truth in every case I certainly doubt that " misuse of crystals " would be an entire " cause " of bipolar. crystal and other work sometimes brings hiddens conditions to the surface so that they can be recognised and worked on I do not even know that the " gal " had bipolar which is the diagnosis dujour these days ( I 've had close freinds who had real bipolar and it was far more severe than a lot of what I see with that label these days) The way I work with crystals there are automatic safetys. The main reason crystal work could possibly do damage is because someone has that excpectation I respect the Crystal deva and the spiritual intelligence that is coming through and working with us via the crystals and when you do that as with Reiki they will not do harm It is possible for crystals to effect a mood change thats what we do when we hand rose quartz and lepediolite to a depressed person and under some conditions for some people intence unshielded exposure to say a dark purple stone can bring out a feeling of nervousness or depression but it does not create the condition it reveals or amplifies it maybe anyway well thats my initial opinion what do you guys think? Guest guest
Hi Peggy and All, Sounds like it was the Shaman that did the diagnosing of this bi- polar condition, not a licensed medical practitioner. So how true was it that her condition was actually bi-polar? (Brain chemical imbalance that affects our moods.) This is just a thought....we spirit-humans resonate at a stronger energy frequency ...generally speaking...than a crystal or stone, and they can amplify our energy, we can absorb that energy into ourselves, but they aren't strong enough to cause us dis-ease. If we have dis-ease (such as bi-polar), that is coming from a physi- cal and mental level, not the crystals. The Shaman " curing " her was a stronger energy than her own. It also means that she accepted that energy for a " cure " . She act- ually sounds dependent on outside energy instead of accessing and trusting her own. I'm not very experienced with crystal & stones work, but all of it has been my intent ...which basically makes me the " boss " of the energy. ;o) Hope this is helpful, Cathie Peggy Jentoft wrote: > pyrette24 wrote: > > > in a conversation with a gal about > > Reiki and Crystals, I was quite surprised when she told me she was > > diagnosed > > w/bipolar due to misuse of crystals and that a Shaman Healer cured > > her. Guest guest
I think people who work with the energies should be very careful categorizing a person's mental state. Bipolar is the mental illness of the moment and it really makes me angry to hear stories like that. One of the first things I do with anyone I am treating in any way, is get a brief medical case history - what other health professionals they are seeing or have seen in the recent past, if they are on meds of any kind, what brought them to me. People come to "healers" for so many reasons and it is a matter of personal integrity not to take advantage of their issues - and yet tricky. I realize I am rambling but the only misuse of crystals, colours, energy work etc. - in my mind at least - is when the practitioner deals on levels and with issues for which he has no practical experience. And I'm not talking "years of schooling" kind of credentials necessarily. We "know" what we "know" plus you can not hurt people with this love and healing unless that is your intention. On the other hand - and I apologize for going on - I totally believe that soul retrieval and journeying can heal many manners of rooted illness - mental included. Misuse of crystals causing the distress? I really do not think so. " I guess it was just to easy to understand if they kept to the same terminology. We are being led to believe here that a person has had to " misuse " a crystal to become manic and then misuse it or another crystal to become depressive. Crystals are the gentliest form of healing there is. The whole idea being presented here is repugnant at the least and I wonder at the motivations of those who whould make such a " diagnosis. No this is not a truth Just another one of those fear based " S tuff " that some folks seem to like to use as a power and control freak tool. Crystal work can help with many conditions and situations including bipolar but does not cause these or any other disease or distortion. Anytime anyone tells someone what causes any condition you can be pretty certain that they are mistaken or at the least simplifying to uselessness. While I do believe that our causes /actions create our choices / effects Karma or cause and effects is far more involved than most of the simple " explanations " . Such as the one above would lead you to think. Guest guest
Crystals are the gentliest form of healing there is. The whole idea being presented here is repugnant at the least and I wonder at the motivations of those who whould make such a " diagnosis. " This leads me to a question: a close friend suffers from multiple chemical sensitivity and has been ill for the better part of twenty years. Most forms of energy work are too harsh for her as they cause a detox that's too much for her highly sensitive body to handle. Even Reiki can make her worse unless it's done very carefully and not too much at a time. Are there any crystals or techniques using them, that might help her?
