Guest guest
Good question. The microcosmic orbit as Chia calls it, starts at the lower dan tien, and runs up the governing and then down the central meridian. The bridge is at the palate crossed by the tongue. Running yang energy up the spine can be cooled by yin energy running down the central. I think Donna's hook up or zip up traces the central but I don't read much about keeping the tongue up except from Chia and others like Morris, who connect yang/yin channels to circulate energy. Personally, I find running the orbit to open me up and is quite energizing, and the zip up closes me down with respect to other peoples energy. I've had energy work done where the central meridian was traced downwards and I felt as if my core was completely exposed and vulnerable. I trusted the practitioner so it was a nice connection. Troy >Why > do qi qong experts teach that the central meridian goes downwards > whereas Donna Eden and all the people well-versed in acupuncture > will tell you it flows upwards? > >
Guest guest
Ron - Thanks very much for your imput and advice. The local class I found is held at the Japanese Cultural Institute and is probably fairly conservative and meant for older people. Which could be wonderful or un-engaging... So I'll be a humble peon and check it out There is some good info on the Bruce Kumar website: http://www.energyarts.com/hires/home/faq.html Thanks again and I'll let you know - Best, Helen
Guest guest
I have done some workshops with these folks that I liked, but it is what doc would call the dance form. I know they have practitioners in CA (specifically Davis) but don't know about your area. http://www.chilel-qigong.com/ Sue www.coachdrgridley.com
