Guest guest
Hi Doc and Group, Does anyone know if there is any significant difference between the " Sedona Method " and Larry Crane's " The Release Technique " ? Seems they are both derived from Lester Levenson's work. I am familiar with Sedona Method and was considering looking into Crane's works. I looked in the archives, but nothing there on it. Thanks Lori
Guest guest
Lori, As far as I know they are pretty much the same Hal does one and Larry the other. I would say the difference is that Larry's approach is more visceral, and worked better for me, (possibly because I tend to being kinasthetic.) Usually I find his method complements the standard Sedona Method questions. There is an MSN discussion group you could look up for more info. p.s. I'm new to the energy medicine, NLP and EFT, if anyone has opinions on how Sedona Method compares I'd be very interested to know what you all think. Guest guest
Hi David, Thanks for your feedback. I've tried both Sedona and EFT. They both work well. They both seem to get you to the same point - releasing " issues " that are holding you back from your goals, causing you pain, fears, anxiety, etc.. I'm a novice in NLP so maybe someone else can provide a comparison. The main differences I noticed is that the Sedona Method is more subtle and gradual than EFT and you don't necessarily need to be as specific as you do about your issue as you do when you do the EFT drills. EFT requires taping on the meridian points to release the energy associated with that emotion or pain, so if you are kinesthetic maybe you'll like it. Also because of the energy block/meridian connection, EM is a great thing to learn in conjunction with EFT. It will make it clear why certain aspects of EFT work. I noticed EFT can work very quickly and have dramatic results. It basically requires tapping on various meridian points on the body and works best when you can keep your focus on a very specific aspect or incident or pain related to your issue while you tap the points and state an affirmation. You make a note of the intensity of emotion, body pain, or whatever, before and after you do the drill. If there is still some intensity after the drill, you repeat until there is no more intensity when you bring the thought to mind or move or test the sore part of your body, etc.. The neat thing is that if you only have one aspect to deal with or you hit upon the central aspect of your issue, it can work very rapidly and completely eliminate it, seeming almost miraculous. Other times, it may require you to focus on several different aspects of your issue, focusing on each one at a time as you repeat the drill on each of them. You may not necessarily have to visit all aspects to be completely free of that overall issue though. If you happen to hit the right one it can have somewhat of a domino effect and eliminate them all for that issue. Hope this helps.
