Does anyone know about the Nikken’s

company water filtration system? It’s

called Pi Mag, or something

like that. I was with a friend of

mine the other day who had a water bottle with a

Nikken filter right in the bottle – she said you could put just regular

tap water in the bottle, put in the filter, and it filters the water before you

drink it. Anybody else hear of this,

and how does it work?

For whatever it is worth,

reverse osmosis [the means by which " a

liquid, passing

through a semi-permeable membrane, migrates from a region of higher

concentration to a region of lessor concentation " ] is not the best nor

most reliable means of insuring that one consumes water free of all

contaminants because the longer that filtering membrane is used, the less

efficient it becomes.

I have an older model of the Nikken water bottle and filter. Have been using it for 3 years. Have total confidence in it's ability to filter the water. Have used it with tap water in several places in China, Macau and use it regularly here in Hong Kong. What I do not know is how long or how much volume the filter is good for.I know the United Nations issues them to many of their people that work all over the world.

Cheers, Doug

it would be great to take along when

you travel. And wow – the United

Nations is a Nikken distributor? LOL
