Guest guest
try using a loosly draped cloth diaper. My baby has this at about that age. It was because his skin was wet constantly & the creams & wipes only made it worse. try some cornstarch to dry it in a hurry. -Shelby Martin Biggemann [mbiggemann]Monday, December 09, 2002 4:25 AMherbal remedies Subject: [herbal remedies] rash I need your help folks, i have a litle boy nine moths old, and he have a rash because he have diarrea, and in his but he have some injuries, and im desperate because he cries a lot, excuse me my english but im a spanish spoken trying to learn english, i hope you understand the illnes of my litle son Thanks martinFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Guest guest
Martin, What is your son eating? He may have some allergy/intolerance of what he's eating, causing the rash and diarrhoea My son got a terrible nappy rash when 3 months old, so bad that he had no skin left on his bottom. We discovered it was caused by dairy milk. When we switched to a non-dairy milk, it all cleared up in 2 days! Meanwhile, try leaving him as long as you can each day without a nappy - this gives the skin some chance to dry up and not have much contact with a wet nappy. Guest guest
Martin, I haven't been on the list long enough to try to guess what Doc might say or if there is anything herbal that you can use. His bottom is raw and cracked and bleeding, yes? How long has he had the diarrhea? Is he breastfed or formula fed? If he's formula fed, you may want to change his diet for a day or two at least. Has he recently been on antibiotics for an ear infection or something? Often antibiotics can cause this. When mine ends up on antibiotics (although I try to avoid it, it does happen sometimes...no one is perfect!), and I notice their bottoms starting to get inflamed, etc, I let them sit in a bathtub with about an inch or two of warm water (just warm enough for comfort) and a couple of cups of apple cider vinegar added and mixed into the water. It often keeps the problem from getting any worse, but I don't know if that's advisable this late or not! The one time my son was that bad, his Doctor has OVERDOSED him on penicillin!! (We don't see her anymore!) Anyhow, I also let them go diaperless so the skin can air out and dry properly. Maybe someone will jump in with an herbal crème recipe that would help! Good luck, Rowan Martin Biggemann [mbiggemann]Monday, December 09, 2002 4:25 AMherbal remedies Subject: [herbal remedies] rash I need your help folks, i have a litle boy nine moths old, and he have a rash because he have diarrea, and in his but he have some injuries, and im desperate because he cries a lot, excuse me my english but im a spanish spoken trying to learn english, i hope you understand the illnes of my litle son Thanks martin

Guest guest
The Jojoba 9% Tea Tree Oil would really help Suz, but do y'all remember my post from about a month ago when we were talking about Papayas etc??? Welllllllllllllllllll, I wasn't kidding when I mentioned that one could take the peel of a skinned papaya and use it directly on a diaper rash. I've seen this clean up a mild rash in about a half an hour and a serious diaper rash in anywhere from 1 to 3 days. Completely!!! Guest guest
Oh how I wish I'd known that when the kids were still in diapers. I have used the mashed fruit externally with some success, but the peel is better? Good to know, thanks Doc ;-) Janet - Dr. Ian Shillington herbal remedies Tuesday, December 10, 2002 7:36 PM Re: [herbal remedies] rash The Jojoba 9% Tea Tree Oil would really help Suz, but do y'all remember my post from about a month ago when we were talking about Papayas etc??? Guest guest
Did any one ever answer this question? If I were you I would get a lotion that has beta glucan in it. It’s very healing. Carol M ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Would you benefit from a more effective and healthy immune system? http://www.bluegreensolutions.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ bikerbillie [bikerbillie] > I have a terrible rash that I have had since before Thanksgiving. I had clear skin until that time. It itches and if I become the least bit overheated I break out in new splotches. I have been to the skin doctor three times and have used just about all the anti itch skin creams and lotions made. I have been taking a tranquilizer at night to stop the night time itching. Also have applied antibiotic creams and taken hydrocortizone to no avail. I also soaked in a bath with 4 bottles of hydrogen peroxide and still have the hives. Do you know of anything to stop this? I am not the only person with these hives. Several other persons in this area (Northwest) have the same thing and can't seem to get rid of it?
