Guest guest
Hi, My son has bad body odor. The commerical deodorant seems to help, but I switched him to something more natural from the health food store. It does not seem to do the trick. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do? What is the cause of body odor? I know it is hereditary since his father has it also. Thanks for your time, With appreciation, BTA
Guest guest
bta--one solution worth trying is dr. bronner's pure castile liquid soap - WITH TEA TREE OIL - heavily lathered and left under the armpit for 5-10 minutes - or more - before washing off thoroughly, morning & night. That may work alone to kill the offending microbes, if that's the actual problem with your son & husband. I've seen it work with some serious underarm odor. [Or, periodically after bathing, tea tree oil may be used directly on the underarm...sparingly would be my suggestion. It goes far. Not on irritated or broken skin, as in after shaving, for women.] An additional safeguard: NutraBiotics [aka Citrucidal] puts out GRAPEFRUIT SEED EXTRACT, a broad anti-microbial with multiple uses, in various forms. Great products. [Don't confuse with grape seed extract!] The packaging has the toll-free number for the manufacturer where you can ask for the list of it's extensive uses/dosages. It takes very little, diluted in a little water, to splash on; and, they may also have a deodorant product. barbara - " bta1012003 " <bta101 Sunday, January 25, 2004 9:02 PM Body Odor Hi, My son has bad body odor. Guest guest
Mixing Baking soda and fresh lemon juice , until you get a consistent paste, aplpy under the arms and wait 15 to 25 minutes until gets dry. It will remove a lot of odor. You can try it in other parts of the body but it seems that works best under the arms. Let me know if you try it ! bta1012003 <bta101 wrote: Hi,My son has bad body odor. Guest guest
Try Crystal deodorant from a health store---they all carry it. It comes under different labels---but is basically a large lump of unscented crystal that you use the same way as other deodorants and it eliminates bacteria in minutes (hence odour) with out interfering with the perspiration process. It can be used many times throughout the day---even rubbed on clothing. Works like an absolute charm (and I'm stinky too)----no harmful effects and completely natural. I would be utterly lost with out it.timotea <misssicher wrote: Mixing Baking soda and fresh lemon juice , until you get a consistent paste, aplpy under the arms and wait 15 to 25 minutes until gets dry. Guest guest
your husbands diet is now your son's diet and so it seems his problems as well. So cleanse and then change diets to a healthy one filled with fruits and vegetables. " PLEASURES OF THE PRACTITIONER Dr. Arthur Vos grows poetic in his praise of the benefits of fasting in chronic " disease. " He says: " I can conceive of no greater pleasure in the pursuit of my profession; than to witness a patient suffering from a chronic disease, gradually regaining his health under the administration of a fast and the application of proper dietetic and hygienic procedures. Though some patients have considerable distress during the first few days of a fast, the later feelings of buoyance and freedom of pain, both mentally and physically, make them willing to continue a method against which their prejudices at first strongly rebelled. To see the clouded eye clear up and regain its igneous brightness, to see the xanthically discolored parchment-like skin clear itself and become normally peaches and cream, to perceive the breath, at first heavily laden with unmentionable impurities, gradually lose its nauseous odor and become attar of roses, to experience the joys of fellowship that come back again with the correct mental attitude and a sane view of life, displacing the old, intoxicated, perverted and disjointed attitude toward the world and one's fellowmen, from the enjoyment of witnessing which neither struggle nor effort ought to deter. These devoutly-to-be-wished-for benefits and consummations and a thousand other patronymics come as the effects of a fast performed and properly conducted, provided, of course, subsequent treatment is carried on in a manner to continue the benefits received. This can be done by correcting the life through the application of the principals of hygiene and natural living. " --Fasting, June, 1923. Guest guest
Body odor comes from within, from a body that is out of balance and full of toxins – I would suggest a dietary improvement, a cleanse, maybe adding some whole food supplementation, plant-based digestive enzymes, probiotics, a gallon of PURE water (not tap) every day. Guest guest
I am glad this subject is being discussed. I have 3 little boys 7,9,10. They already need deodorant. I was under the impression that body odor was not a problem at this age. At least it was not for me. Not until puberty.
