(No way! The new method uses the Alpha Stim Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulator (CES). The Alpha Stim uses a tiny electric current, applied through ear clip electrodes. This re-establishes the normal electrical flow in the human body by producing waveforms which are similar to those seen in the body when it is in a relaxed state. The normalisation of the electrical activity of the cells is claimed to reduce the physical symptoms of anxiety resulting in the brain allowing the body to relax in what would otherwise be a stressful situation. The results can last for hours or days. Winick RL. www.info_at_r... A double-blind placebo-controlled study was performed on 33 randomly selected dental patients to evaluate whether cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) is a viable procedure for reducing anxiety during routine dental procedures. The active CES treatment group was significantly less anxious than the placebo group at the conclusion of various dental procedures.
Guest guest
For a person suffering from stress or anxiety disorders this could be highly beneficial to use at home. It would be a lot better than medications that are prescribed. Imagine what this could do in a mental health setting like in mental hospitals? Or even for someone who uses alcohol to loosen up ay a party or nefore a meeting to combat nervousness. It could become a treatment for someone who is addicted to a substance. I can see a lot of potential if we are not too quick to pass judgement on the good it is vapable of.
