Guest guest
You know whey protein is just milk solids...!! It shouldn't be difficult or expensive to get. Isn't it feasible to say that you should get whatever milk has in it by drinking raw unprocessed milk...not so expensive. Maybe just expensive because the government has kept it out of reach due to pressure from pasteurized community. Reminds me of the healing and helping qualities of marijuana not being able to be used because of tobacco and alcohol lobbies. We need some new politicians...I vote for 100% public funding of campaigns...that would rid us of the influence of lobbyist. A little politics mixed in there. If processing ruins many things why even get the whey 'isolate', just drink the milk. How does a person get raw milk anyway? Do you have to live on or near a farm to get it or have a cow I guess. Guest guest
Hey Ed, that isn't a bad idea. I want to move anyway. Instead of $85 for whey protein, buy a cow. May be cheaper. Perhaps a small farm somewhere and add a couple of chickens. barb --- Ed Siceloff <siceloff wrote: > Your best bet would be to have your own dairy > cow. Guest guest
I'm new to this list have been reading a few weeks now. You can often buy products directly from dairy farms or the farmers themselves. Depending on where you live, it maybe only a short drive to a dairy frm near you. Most farmers are quite down to earth and very willing to help you if they can. Many dairy farmers have open refrideraters on property where they sell whole milk, cheese, and squeeky cheese and other bye products. I have to drive about 45 minutes to a nice family run dairy where I buy my milk and such, You may give that a try. Guest guest
Your best bet would be to have your own dairy cow. Not an option for the city or even the typical half acre lot in the suburbs. But, on the other hand, it doesn't take a lot of space to raise one cow, and start a calf. One can buy very large, round, bales of hay (grass) that a cow does quite well on. That is their natural food. But a little exercise would be a good idea for her as once you are nurturing your cow with all the proper things, you will come to loving your cow and not just consider her in terms of what she can give you in terms of milk. Guest guest
Thanks Ginger. That is an option that I might try and also could be fun. I live in Kentucky, in a big city and some farm probably not too, too far away. barb --- Gillian Reed <ggotts wrote: > I'm new to this list have been reading a few > weeks now. It's a matter of concentration, Barb; it takes 500 GALLONS of milk to produce 10 GRAMS of Immunocal. Health practitioners, myself included, recommend 30-60 grams daily to meet requirements for both glutathione and high-quality bioavailable protein which gives essential amino acids, some of which are found in only very low quantities in vegetables. Body builders are recommended up to 120 grams daily. > If processing ruins many things why even get the > whey 'isolate', just drink the milk. > How does a person get raw milk anyway? If you can drink more than 50 gallons of milk, that may just work in the long run Many people react unfavourably to casein, lactose, and fats present in cow's milk. Guest guest
Many of these reactions are a direct result of pasteurization which 1) destroys the naturally-occurring enzymes in the milk and 2) converts the lactose into beta-lactose which is absorbed much more rapidly into the system than natural lactose. It's a one-two punch! Many people who have bad reactions to pasteurized milk have no such reaction to properly produced raw milk. Of course, even were it physically possible, i don't think drinking 50 gal. of milk a day would be especially healthy. > >Many people react unfavourably to casein, lactose, and fats present in >cow's milk. > >Duncan Crow -- -- Neil Jensen: neil The WWW VL: Sumeria http://www.sumeria.net/ It has recently been discovered that research causes cancer in rats.
