Guest guest
The Worst U.S. City for Allergies When it comes to allergies, the worst U.S. city in which to live is Louisville, Kentucky. That's the finding of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America's Allergy Capitals survey that ranks U.S. cities based on the effects key environmental and medical factors have on the severity of allergies. You won't believe what can protect kids from allergies! Louisville is not only No. 1, it also got a score of 100--the highest possible. The score is determined from a city's recorded pollen levels over the last seven years, number of recorded antihistamine prescriptions sold per 100,000 population over the past year, and the number of board-certified allergists and immunologists per 100,000 population. Watery, itchy eyes. Runny noses. All around misery. That's Louisville in the spring and summer. Are you allergic to what's in your house? Find out the three common household allergens. And if misery loves company, what other cities have a high level of allergies? The top 15 are:1. Louisville, Kentucky2. Austin, Texas3. St. Louis, Missouri4. Atlanta, Georgia5.
