Guest guest
Hi Rose, Thanks so much for your input. Here is my story; I was raised without pets because my mother had allergies of every kind you can think of, before I got into the health arena, I too like her, was taking prescription drugs for my allergies, however about 20 years ago my daughter brought home a raggedy stray kitty, that we all had problems with allergies, poor little guy could not walk into the bedroom with out me sneezing and having all night drainage, but he had such a good personality and was so loving that we decided to keep it, simply because we loved him so much we were all going to live with our allergies, instead of breaking my daughters heart and getting rid of him. About 3+ months of suffering... a miracle happed, all of our allergies seemed to have gone away. The boys that were borne after having a cat in the house had no allergies at all, that seemed to have broken my families doom with allergies. It is my opinion that we tend to sensitize ourselves to our allergens, our bodies have the ability to heal itself, if we just give our bodies the chance and the time it takes to do its job and it will heal itself. In our household it was the love we all shared for a little stray cat, that was the instrument to promote our healing. Love does work in mysterious ways. Parents who are allergic to animals tend to have children who are prone to allergies and these kinds of people tend not to allow their offspring to have pets. Guest guest
Along these same lines I suffered from many allergies (determined by that skin scratch test--lol) and headaches. I grew up with dogs. I love them, they love me---even supposedly mean ones. But that did not save me from my "allergies" although animal dander wasn't one of the things that I was allergic to. My allergies were dust, mold, grass, trees, flowers, etc. I quit a janitorial job at one point and went into doing my own thing, all the time. Summertime devoted to making gardens (flower gardens) and walls, maintaining lawns, etc. Stuff that I really loved to do. Leave the house at around 7:30am and come home usually after 9pm. I have to say that I hardly ever got sick. Wintertime and parts of summer were devoted to doing some logging and running a firewood business. Course there is no pollen at that time but often there is mold--fall and early spring. I stayed outdoors most of the time and was healthier for it. Healthier then than now even. Point being, I had daily contact with my allergens and not my allergist. Removed myself from all the chemicals indoors (and I didn't and still don't use them outdoors), and had my own chemical plant manufacturing probably what was the correct levels of vitamin d. Only thing that didn't go away was allergy to the type of mold you'd find in a spring house or wet basement. That would give me an instant headache. But everything else went away. That is not to say that this is the allergy solution. I certainly don't want somebody to go and try it out and go into anaphylactic shock over my supposed advice.
