Guest guest
You can learn anything you want, but generally, it is far easier to learn Reiki practice from a person who has been practicing it already. In addition, Reiki itself is passed through an attunement of the student by the master to the specific frequency of Reiki energy he/she is teaching. Generally, that would take a lot more work and experience to achieve on your own than is worth it, considering how inexpensive and available Reiki Masters are for attunements. Some even do distance attunements, though I still recommend an in person relationship with an experienced person for the best outcome, not just for the attunement but also for learning the skills necessary to be a good and responsible Reiki practitioner. There are far too many irresponsible energy workers who do not ask permission before they work, invade peoples' personal spaces, go beyond their scope of practice, and are indiscreet with their intuitive awarenesses, frightening and harming people. Reiki in and of itself is a good thing; but a bad practitioner can be a very negative thing. Guest guest
I'd like to emphasize that the chakras are not part of traditional Reiki instruction (study of the chakras is not even from the same country of origin as Reiki). If your Master taught chakras then they are probably nontraditional. That said, of course, any energetic attunement will engage and awaken the energy centers of the body, and get things moving! We often discover new awarenesses, become more sensitive, and sometimes have a healing crisis after an attunement or series of treatments. Many people are put off by that, but the fact is that our systems are generally so trashed that " we have to get worse to get better " , or the house is more of a mess while it is being cleaned out than before you started because things were being stuffed in the closets and under the beds, and the attunement/treatments are like a cleansing flood coming through. Many Masters encourage their students to undergo treatments for a while before being attuned so that the experience of attunement will be more pleasant and they can work on others soon after without having to focus on their own healing, as often happens.
