You know, I'd like to emphasize that Diane Stein is a witch, not a

traditional Reiki Master. She wrote a book and said you can attune

yourself, and sold a lot of books.

There are many forms of healing, and many kinds of energy. You need

to be attuned by a person who has Reiki in order to have Reiki

energy. It is like, well, there are all kinds of cows, and they all

give milk, but unless you get milk from a Jersey cow you will not

have Jersey cow milk.

Does that make sense? I've got Stein's book, as well as many others,

and that I'm aware of, the only person who has ever been

spontaneously attuned was Mikao Usui, and he was struck in the head

with energy so profound that it knocked him out. He wasn't ready for

it, and considering how long he'd been studying, it seems like

hubris for anyone else to think they would be more ready than he was.

Your mileage may vary. I've done Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Healing

Touch, Chios and other forms of intuitive healing for over twenty

years, and they are all different in their approach and feel. Just

because you can do energy work does not mean you are doing Reiki.

Blessings,

Crow
