Book clubs

Hi group - One of my friends started monthly all-day " retreats " at her

house, which operates similarly to a book club. We choose whatever book to

read for the month (this month is " Mists of Avalon " ) and anyone is invited,

although we do have a core group.

 

We start out with breakfast snacks & coffee, then go for a walk, have a

group meditation, discuss the book, and have a potluck lunch. Sometimes we

stay afterward to do crafts. Sometimes we go as a group somewhere else for

an afternoon workshop or another activity (like checking out the new pagan

shop downtown). It's fun and gives us busy people a chance to relax together

without taking too much time away from all our other activities.

I don't know where you are located but have you heard that TNT network in

the US is in production for a TV movie based upon " Mists of Avalon " . They

have Angelica Huston playing Viviane and Julia Margolis (sp?) from ER

playing Morgaine. From what I have seen so far, it looks like it may well

be a great production. It will be interesting to see how true they remain

to the book.
