Dear Jo

I have read many of the wonderful ideas from the group and am pleased

that you can feel enlightened. I have been thinking some-more about

your difficulty and would like to offer some experiences I have had

and facilitated in hypnosis.

I have worked with a lady recently who I know will not mind me

describing a little bit to you.

The thoughts of going out for any length of time were almost

unbearable, so it was easier to stay at home. Staying home and

feeling secure reinforced the reluctance to go out. Yet she

consciously wanted to go out. Unconsciously, of course, she did not

want to.

Although we explored some of her past experiences, we found that by

far the most significant way forward was for her to accept her

feelings FULLY.

In accepting these feelings, a chain reaction can begin which leads

to focus and review (usually on unconscious levels) of important

issues associated with the problem. The process of change can wholly

be ignored, it is irrelevent to the conscious mind.

You can try the following exercise:

take a piece of string about 24 inches or so long.

tie to the string an object, a fairly heavy key is good.

so you have a pendulum.

hold the pendulum in one hand and steady it.

consciously try your hardest to keep the hand perfectly still.

whilst doing this, intend that the pendulum will move, keep your hand

still!

try your intention in moving the pendulum right to left, left to

right, forwards and back, round in circles etc.

What is moving that pendulum? Not your conscious mind that's for

sure, it must be your intention. Ignore the process, it doesn't

matter.

If you use relaxation currently, you can build some intention into it

and enjoy wondering how you can now enjoy nature and all it's gifts.

Love from Simon
