I appreciate what you said about needing time alone as part of growing and healing. I've been almost completely alone for nearly 10 years now and I wonder sometimes what it's all for. I have little hope of change and have become resigned to what I feel will be the pattern for the rest of my life. However, not so resigned that I couldn't write to you folks! Do tell me something about your editing if you have time - it's a fairly esoteric occupation, I find. Explanations always needed! I'd love to discuss the esoterica of making hack writers sound intelligent (in the past) and making brilliant people's indecipherable gibberish more accessible to the informed layperson (more recently), and just trying to get motivated to do the stuff in the first place (almost every day!).
