Hi group I am needing some advice for my daughter (24 yo). My daughter has

had several pregnancies, 2 AB, 1 to term, one tubal which ruptured, and does

not desire another child now. She has tried BC pills 2 varieties (one ended

in childbirth, second in tubal pregnancy) depo shots for one year made her

incredibly sick for the year. She just went off the shot and returned to

condoms and spermicide.

 

Now I have heard about women who in the past used methods to control # of

children with herbs, but I am having a hard time finding out which herbs and

how to prepare them. Also are the herbs used to prevent pregnancy or to end

one once it is started?

 

Does anyone have any experience with alternative or ancient birth control?

How successful was it? What are the pitfalls to think about?

I will give my humble opinion on this one. Have her stick to condoms and

rhythm and early withdrawl. Use her wits and sense.

 

The body is a complex mass of chemicals and strives to keep in balance.

Putting in things - whether they be herbs or pharmacuticals throws it into

commotion. You can't just isolate one part of it. It is a " stew " . I know

that sounds frustrating in her case but I have had to deal with the after

effects in my clients that have done things like growbust - it messes up

the delicate balance.

 

If you really want to pursue the herbal line of thought - and I cannot agree

with it - I don't know the herbs but I do know that when I was in Greece it

was not an uncommon practice to use herbs for abortion. That makes me think

that it can't be too healthy to the whole system.
