Susanne:

I have to admit, I am not sure what the original source of the correspondences

is, but the keynotes are, as you may have observed, a natural octave, with High

C being the Transpersonal or connective point (what some might call the " 8th "

chakra). The keynotes correspond to the vibrational aspects of the colors,

which run the spectrum from red to violet (red=C, orange=D, yellow=E, green=F,

blue=G, indigo=A, violet=B).

There is also a correspondence which I did not include, but might be familiar to

some who learned Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs in school..... if you overlay the

chakras on the pyramid, there is a very close stepwise progression in levels of

development from root to crown, from safety and survival needs through self

actualization.

Wish I could help you more... anyone else have any idea about the keynote link?

I once tried to make a chart showing chakra keys and colors. I think I

had C as the first, and I don't recall why, perhaps because in some book

I'd seen it there. And I thought F was in the heart chakra slot.

Please help me line it out correctly. Thanks. - - Chet Williams
