I received this a couple of days ago and thought people on the list might

be interested.

Love and Light, Ninox.

From the desk of Caroline Myss:

I am very pleased to welcome all of you to my new web site,

http://www.myss.com/

This web site has taken a year to put together, and required an enormous

amount of mind-breaking, heart-wrenching, and willful determination by the

force behind this creation, my associate, David Smith, as well as the

creative team of Mary Neville and Jeanne Anderson, who created so much of

the content. I am introducing all of you to David via this letter to let

you know that behind this site sits a genuine Wizard of Oz who is available

to all of you for answering questions, receiving suggestions about what you

would like to see on our web site, and in general organizing everything but

the rain. He is actively working to create on-line educational programs for

me which brings enormous delight to me because as so many of you know, I

thrive in a classroom and in teaching. These days, the opportunity to teach

via computer tech is extraordinary, and the types of programs that we would

like to make available to you will span this spectrum: Studies in Medical

Intuition; Contemporary Mysticism and Spiritual Direction; Using the Chakra

System to manifest one's Creativity; a series of Open Forum's for general

questions and answers; and constant education on the nature of archetypes

and working with one's Sacred Contract.

Since this is a new site, I would like to introduce you to some of the

content that we consider to be extremely reflective of our commitment to

support people within the field of mind/body/spirit research. As a teacher,

I long ago learned the benefit of accumulating research, forming models of

education that result from that research, and finding ways to communicate

and share that information to serve other people. For the past sixteen

years, I have studied the energetic anatomical system, pairing stresses

with the physical organs of the body and potential health vulnerabilities.

I have spent years studying the connection between emotional,

psychological, and spiritual stresses and their effect on one's physical

body, as well as how to use that same information and redirect it toward

healing.

Two years ago, my long term colleague, C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D.,

founded the Institute for the Science of Medical Intuition. Our first

research project was to commission a superb statistician named Rose Bruce,

Ph.D., to organize the research I have done on the human energy system in

an interactive self-evaluation tool named the CHII test, which stands for

Checklist of Health Issues and Illness, which is now available on this site

at http://shopanywhere.com/myss/products/product_detail.asp?inventory=102

Those interested in assessing their health through using this tool are

directed to answer a substantial series of questions and then e-mail their

responses to our center for analysis for interpretation. Your results are

then e-mailed back to you. Many who have taken this test have reported back

to us how very useful it is to have an energetic profile done that

highlights their strengths, stress points, and vulnerabilities. I would

encourage each of you to check out our CHII test to see if this form of

self-evaluation attracts you.

Like most people who are drawn to spiritual consciousness, I have my own

practice which is hardly as intense as some, but nevertheless a devoted

one. And, like all people, I have had my share of health related crises in

my life, as well as my own emotional challenges. I always laugh when I am

teaching a workshop as I tell the participants that while I believe down to

the core of my soul every single word that I teach, I am a long, long way

from mastering any of the disciplines natural to the body, the mind, or the

spirit.

Still, I also have had some extraordinary spiritual interventions in my

life - times that have been very dark when " light " has suddenly come into

my life through a thought, or a letter, a phone call, a friend -any and all

of the means through which the Divine enters into our lives. Not a person I

know has made it through each of the days of his or her life without

wondering at least once, " where is the help I need? " , or " how am I going to

get through this? " or " will I ever heal? " And so often, on the other side,

it is so easy to live without gratitude when we aren't doing our

panic-prayers. Well, given my background in theology and my lifelong

interest in spirituality, healing, miracles, saints, angels.....anything

invisible, actually - I knew very well what the significance of lighting a

candle while in prayer means. There is a spiritual animation that occurs by

lighting candles within a ritual, as if one is drawing one's soul to

attention.

I have rarely been a part of a ritual, or at any spiritual service - no

matter the tradition - in which there is an absence of candles. And I am

also very aware, as I am sure many of you are, that most spiritual

traditions have substances that, when prayer over or blessed, are

recognized become spiritually animated, allowing a level of grace to be

transferred to the human being. Many traditions use holy water, holy oil,

or holy ash. Many of these substances are used by all traditions because

they are considered to be the reflective of the root energy of physical

life. Holy ash represents, among other images, the act of burning away that

which is heavy to the psyche and soul. Holy water carries the essence of

rebirth, and oil, the energy of protection.

In my work, I emphasize with people the significance of living in present

time, of keeping one's attention from wandering too far back into one's

history and getting imprisoned in memories and unfinished business. When

too much of your soul is sent into your history, or into stresses that are

occurring presently in your life, your lose your inner balance and every

part of your life pays a price for that; your creativity, relationships,

your sleep patterns, your digestion, your temperament, your health. For

this reason, I wanted to become more focused, more aware of what I was

thinking, and doing, and saying. I wanted to begin to live the discipline

of being in present time, of observing when and how I lost my power to the

challenges of the external world. I decided to combine elements of the

sacred, such as holy ash, with the power of the " light " in a ritual, and I

created Sacred Lights, candles that represent to me the light of constant

prayer. These candles are made with holy ash, so that for me, they hold the

intention of " burning away the weight of one's psyche and soul " and

retrieving one's spirit in the present moment. I am more than pleased to

tell you that these candles are available on this site, and I hope that if

you feel the same need as I do, which is to learn to live in the present

moment, you might consider using some of these candles as a constant light

of that represents the intention of living in the moment.

Something that I consider a great deal of fun is sending a postcard to

friends via this site. Like many people, I am not computer literate, and

were it not for David, I would never have seen this site since he had to

show me several times how to " call it up " , and even now, he has to give me

directions via the phone. When he showed me how to send postcards to people

with messages, I had the time of my life, particularly since I rarely have

the time to answer phone calls, or spend any time at all staying in as

close touch as I know I should with the people I love. I am very aware of

how negligent the busy life makes us - very aware. I so often feel great

guilt at the end of the day when I finally have a moment because I know for

a fact that I have ten phone calls to return, but it's 11:30 pm, and I can

not get off the couch. So, I now send these little post cards - and if I

could ask one favor of those of you reading this letter, if you would

consider sending one or two of these postcards to your friends, I would

greatly appreciate it. I wish I truly could tell you how much.

Finally, we are always looking for new streams of information to provide

for you. It is our intention to generate a continual flow of interactive

tools for personal development, as well as on-line classes and discussions,

as well as other products that we feel reflect our commitment to be a

quality web site. Soon we will be introducing Sacred Oils, a line of lovely

pure and blended oils that have been developed with the intention of

putting you into an " energetic orbit " of tranquility, or creativity, or

relaxation, or meditation - through their application. Additionally, some

of these oils are those that were used in biblical times for very special

rituals, and in keeping with one of the central themes of this web site,

the enhancement of people's spiritual rituals is very significant to us.

Years ago I realized that there was a noticeable difference within the

energy fields of people who engage in spiritual rituals, and those who do

not. Prayers for blessings, prayers of gratitude, prayers for health, do

not go " unheard " . And, slightly repeating what I said earlier, animating

your moments of prayer with a light that contains the very element that has

been used for literally thousands of years to enhance the energy field is a

subtle and ever so precious form of support.

I would like to ask you to submit any and all suggestions for how we can

continue to be of service to you. Additionally, we have introduced to our

site, in the Forum section, " Prayer Requests " , where we will encourage

people to send in their prayers. We are expanding our tithing section in

service to organizations that need people to know about their work. (And

FYI - all funds go directly to them, and never pass through this office).

We plan many more avenues for reaching out to you. And as one last open

invitation, we like sharing Daily Messages, and Stories of the Week.

Inspiration and stories of human courage, love, humor, and anything that

makes us glad we're alive - qualifies as information that we would welcome

and delight in putting on this site. If you have any desire to be a part of

these open invitations, please contact David

at(davidsmith), and all will be taken care of.

I wish all of you so much love, and happiness and blessings. I am so

grateful to all of you for your support of my work, and I feel deeply

honored that I am able to do what I can to help you. I wish I could do

more. I regret that I can no longer do personal readings due to my

schedule, but I am in the process of creating a means to reach people

through the site to provide healing guidance for you in a more intimate

fashion. http://shopanywhere.com/myss/aboutreadings.asp

Until later - and should you have any special questions (no readings,

please) but rich questions that all would love to hear about - please send

them to http://shopanywhere.com/myss/askcaroline.asp and I will begin my

responses to that column.

Love,

Caroline
