Guest guest
Dear Dr. David, Thanks, but not quite what I had in mind. My training has contended that much can be done without " deep detour trances " at all. While it can be pointed out that any bodymind session, lasting an hour or so, includes part of that time with the client in a " light trance " or state of heightened suggestability. Much can be done even at that level because trust has certainly been established. I didn't say I was trained to do what you suggest and so would not subject my loved one to such techniques. The areas I did mention have practitioners aware of more current findings than my own. I continue to hope these will respond, and I will be able to wnderstand and follow their advice. However, rest assured, we are all now fully informed of your sterling credentials. This is just ol' Boomer looking for something simple and perhaps by and large overlooked that members of the group can share and I can try without worrying could I get him back. See, he's pretty out there some of the time on his own. The request remains, awaiting a little more grass-roots kind of reply Best Regards, BoomHC ( a " mature male kangaroo " member)
Guest guest
Hi Boomer Halfcircle: I assumed you understood the therapeutic value of these DETOURS. They are, of course, to encourage the person to use other parts of the brain to pick up and do the work of the damaged part. It has been shown many times over that the brain is very plastic e.g. a child who at an age when it's learning to talk and has a severe head trauma within six months can be taught to talk using a different part of the brain. My suggestion was not for you to try and do something that you are unfamiliar with, but rather to have an outside therapist help you. I'm sure there are ones as trained as I am and better in Vegas. I certainly didn't mean to inply that this should be done in place of any other work you or your fellow therapists can do. I am a firm beleiver in " whatever therapy works...use it " Dr. Dave Boomer Halfcircle wrote: > Dear Dr. David, > > Thanks, but not quite what I had in mind.
