Guest guest
Hello Group, New kid seeking additional tools to assist my dear father-in-law recover from the strode he suffered in May. My life partner and I are here in superheated Las Vegas to help him and Mom, and we left our life back in San Diego. He is a couple of months out of the hosp. Pretty stable on his meds. which are to support his heart which has never been pumping at full cap. It never much made a diff to him, he's a strong one. The last few days he has had disturbing weakness again on the left, for part of the day. I am doing sessions with him using TFH (short) balancing, One Brain Integration (gait esp.), G-Jo accupressure (for apoplexy), and the Best circulatory exercise on the planet, soft-bouncerebounding. He does respond well, he strengthens, color returns and we all are gratefull for that. He does see the Dr. regularly (for Coumadin checks, etc.) sees P.T. twice/week (htd.pool therapy), Only they don't know about most of what is available cause they aren't taught. No blame, it's the establishment. This group is a far better resource !! My question is whether one (some) of you kind folks have special things you have had favorable exp. with which can be related easily here. I give you the list only to assure you I will stand a chance of understanding you, and you know what we're using. Perhaps you specialize in stroke situations and can light a special insight. Thank You for your consideration, Boomer, open to suggestion
Guest guest
Hi Bomer Halfcircle: As a psychotherapist N.L.P. Trainer and Master Ericksonian Hypnotherapist, I 've had some success with stroke victims using hypnotherapy in cojunction with other holistic and allopathic therapies. What can be very useful is to tell a variety of metaphors inducing a trance state in which the thread is e.g. a motor tour of an interesting part of the world that is familiar to him, but introducing the concept of DETOURS, and the wonderful new and different things that can be learned along the way. These metaphors need to be on going over a period of time at least a month, say three times a week. Guest guest
Dear David, Please explain what you mean when you talk about TFH short balancing, brain integration and C.Jo accupressure. Are these techniques that just work with stroke victims? Are there any books available for more detail. Thank you. Sandy Mathieson, Spiritwalker David B. Guest guest
Boomer: Sorry it has taken me awhile to respond to you; administrative matters have soaked up most of my " airtime " lately. I notice that you are in Las Vegas. Two of my favorite people in the Healing Touch program, Michael Tanaka and Jill Peterson, live there and practice/teach Healing Touch. HT is a program of energy based modalities that you can learn and use for yourself and others; it is eclectic enough to cover the ground from Therapeutic Touch to Barbara Brennan, Rosalyn Bruyere, Brugh Joy and others. I am a bit prejudiced about the program, obviously, since I've been involved with it for a decade and have been teaching it for seven years ;-) Many of the techniques in HT can be used for stress and pain reduction, as well as holistic integration of body, mind, and spirit. There are techniques for brain balancing and for working with all levels of the aura and the chakra system, as well as simple " brush down " techniques for removing stagnant energy and improving that healing sense of wellbeing. Subtle energy work can be cathartic, but can also be very gentle, depending on how the individual needs and processes it. HT practitioners are taught to ground and center themselves and to maintain a state of unconditionality, or " work from the heart " in other words, to help others achieve balance and systemic integrity. I copied the URL from the HTI page, which has certified HT practitioners from NV listed; I see Michael is there: http://www.healingtouch.net/practitioners/ptnv.shtml If you contact him, tell him that I said hello (he and Jill will remember me by my maiden name, Gutierrez, and I used to live in Louisiana, when I was a maiden LOL). Jill also does aura photography (I love those machines, they are so much fun).
