Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm new to this list. I have just started learnig reiki. My reiki master is teaching and attuning the class in four lessons and attunements.I have found it all quite an amazing experience and find that the energy flows quite easily despite only being partly through the course. During my second attunement, I found my head moving uncontrollably from side to side and backwards and forwards, perhaps a bit like what a chiropracter would do to manipulate a neck into allignment. If I tried to resist this I got a headache. For the rest of the class I could not stop rocking, side to side , backwards and forwards. I found this disconcerting yet soothing beyond anything I have ever experienced before. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences, either as masters or students. Guest guest
Hi Ninox: I always find it interesting to hear of others' experiences during the Attunement process. You will be much more aware of each stage of the process since your Master is doing it in stages, one at a time. Many do the entire Attunement at one time, sequentially, and the sensations blend. Some people report very little happening, while others have very vivid experiences. The interaction between Reiki and your energy system is individual. The best thing I can offer you is, do not fight the process. Many times we fear what is unexpected, or what we do not understand. Reiki will not harm you, and resistance sets up blocks in your system which are potentially uncomfortable, as you have learned. I have had students report this " spinning " sensation before. Although I have no explanation for it, my idea is that indeed it is realigning you. Good luck with your continuing process (and don't forget the importance of working on yourself), Crow " Look for Rainbows in the Darkness " Jill and Geoff Cheah wrote: > Hi everyone, > I'm new to this list. > I have just started learnig reiki. Guest guest
Dear Ninox, After about ten years of training, I was trained on a higher vibration by Hawaiian shamans. Their training was one of working through our original 8 chakras, aura, and 8 outer chakras, plus additional 5. Then we were to view energy coming in the top of right side of crown chakra going through the body grounding to the earth and circling back. Then energy going into left side of crown chakra through body ground to the earth and circling back. This pattern set up the scarab energy fields. Then we were to imagine webs crossing over our body, as if you would roll up yarn. Finally to work with the 3 triple set of star points. This training was taught over a three day period while listening 24 hours a day to the Monks tape of droning. This vibration work , at least with me-when I became aware and after talking with my teachers, that we had in facts spent a long time rocking back and forth and moving in a circular motion. It is a very intense training, you have to really trust your teachers. It is not a training to be taken lightly. Being a trainer as well as students allows the training to happen over and over. Four years ago when I was trained over re-introduce to Reiki, I found that after my second attunement, my Hawaiian style of movement has reoccurred. But in checking into the research, one could very easily see the bridge. As a Reiki Master, it seems some people go through the process and get attuned very quickly. I have found it is very important, no matter what knowledge the Reiki student has, there must be a given time between the attunements for competition. What a wonderful world we live in, that we have the opportunity to learn from past Masters and share that information, bringing forth into our daily lives the choice of each person to help heal themselves, with guidance or others desiring their healing vision. Guest guest
Hi Sandy: I think perhaps you are misunderstanding what Ninox is saying; his Master is actually breaking up the single Attunement (probably a Level I Attunement) into four segments and separating the attunement with lessons and processing time. Am I correct, Ninox? On the other hand, I know there are folks out there who do the rapid attunement process to master all at once; for some who have long experience in energy based therapy that may be appropriate, but I would imagine it is " too much " for most to assimilate easily all at once. Like a rich meal, if you don't eat slowly, most of it will go through you unprocessed! And as I have plodded along in my own teaching work, I am seeing the value of mentoring more and more. I am not wise enough to tell someone else how quickly they can move along in the process, but I can share my experiences and perhaps that will help my students digest their own. Guest guest
Dear Caroline - Blessings, blessings, blessing. it is so wonderful to have good feedback and know that you are walking your right path. Our exchanges, give me joy and remind me what a blessing it was to be able to participate in your group. You make me think, smile and be grateful for life's blessings and lessons. Since Friday, when I finally got information about my back, results of the MRI, I have gotten back the mindset to return to daily prayers and meditation for me. I couldn't get settled these past two weeks, and life was very hard (mild depression) for me. Something on this level that I had never really experience. It was one thing working with clients assisting them, it is another thing being almost in the place of the client and remember how I needed to self advocate for myself with doctors. I am able to return to my Reiki meditations to improve my medical problems. I also found out last night that my spirit sisters in my drum circle had had an extremely hard time in Canada., I ask for the way for the men to open up to allow women to sit on a heart drum. Please ask group members to send light to the men elders and not feel threatened so that women can return to sit on the heart drum. We try to walk in balance and shared dreams of light. Women have the opportunity to hear new heart beats within and the drum beat returns to that heart beat. Male elders needs to remember we too, have a right to sit in counsel and beat either a mixed or female only drum. In love and light, I remain thy servant - Sandy Yates Mathieson, Spiritwalker. Guest guest
It can be difficult to find oneself having to change places and become the healed instead of the healer. When my neck was at its worst point, I had a realization that this was my chance to see the other side of the table. The experience made me very aware of the fears that our clients face. We give them the best information we can and yet there will inevitably be unanswered fears. I had a fairly complete understanding of what was going on, yet there were points (like the time I had to stop eating a piece of cake because my arms were too tired to operate the fork) where I was terrified. Needing healing is our opportunity to experience what our clients experience. Listen to this experience and you will find yourself a better healer. I know it has made a difference to my work. Guest guest
Many thanks to everyone who replied, it helps to know of others experience. As I practice on other students I find myself rocking again. I find it quite soothing, especially as my hands " buzz " when I am practicing. I guess everyone's experience is differentand I am grateful that other much more experienced people are here to guide me. Guest guest
I like the Herkimer, Amethyst, or Danburite for attunements. I actually gift my students with an amethyst to hold during attunements. It's a nice tangible reminder of the energies. - Amy -- Amy F. Guest guest
When I attune to any level of Reiki, I set up a crystal grid under the chair that the attunee is sitting in. I let them bring their stones, if they have any, I use my heart shaped bladed selenite that I had under my chair during my Reiki/Master attunement, and any others that call to be used. Enjoy your attunement. Guest guest
Salutations Flower Lady, As a Reiki Master / Teacher there's No need for a Crystal at this time, any Jewelry, crystals will draw energy, when we give reiki to others we must remove all jewlery/crytals from our body. thus giving maximum enery flow and detection within our bodies so we can feel the clients problems, only time you can use a crystal is when you hold a specific crystal in your hands to use in Healing. Crystal Study should begin when you take Reiki level 3. If your teacher doesn't include this you will be missing an opportuity, it actually falls within the Advanced Reiki Training. I myself were using crystals before my Reiki Attunments. So I was well addressed in their usage. If you would like more info please don't hesitate to e-mail me. If you would like to talk about anything I'll give you my phone number at a later time. I live in Cincinnati,Ohio Nameste' Michael -- Many Blessings. Guest guest
I heartily disagree. Crystals can be used with Reiki at any time - they can also be used to heal without Reiki or any type of energy healing. I am a Reiki Master/Teacher in over 30 types of Reiki, and many other forms of energy healing. I don't remove my rings, watches, jewelery, etc, and if my clients don't feel comfortable doing so either, then they don't. I do like them to remove their glasses, but contact lenses are okay left in. Reiki has an inate sense to go where it is needed, be it physical, mental, emotional, etc. Using or wearing crystals will only enhance the healing. Pat Hoffert West Seneca, NY (PS) I teach how to do distance healaing in my Reiki I classes, and don't use any symbols to teach this. From what people who have requested it tell my students, it was great receiving. angelichealing >2008/04/19 Sat PM 01:07:07 CDT > >Cc: flowerlady6 <flowerlady6 >Re: [CrystalHW] Reiki Attunement > >Salutations Flower Lady, >As a Reiki Master / Teacher there's No need for a Crystal at this time, any Jewelry, crystals will draw energy, when we give reiki to others we must remove all jewlery/crytals from our body. thus giving maximum enery flow and detection within our bodies so we can feel the clients problems, only time you can use a crystal is when you hold a specific crystal in your hands to use in Healing. >Crystal Study should begin when you take Reiki level 3. Guest guest
Hello Group. As far as energy healing with crystals goes, I totally disagree with Micheal. However, I totally agree with Pat. So far, I have about two years experience as an energy healer, not including self-healing. I've done energy healing with and without a watch, medical ID pracelet, belt buckle...etc. I know in theory that we and our clients/recipients are not supposed to wear any metal objects during energy healing. That being said, these items have never affected my ability to sense imbalances in the chi of the person I'm working with. Nor has it ever affected my ability to remain grounded so I can project healing energy from earth or, draw unhealthy energy, pain or fevers from that person. I personally have not worked with crystals yet, as I have not had the opportunity to buy any I would use with energy healing. But I do know for a fact that our bodies know what they need and where they need it, whether it's white blood cells, anti bodies, chi...etc. The healthy energy we absorb ourselves, as well as what we channel into others will go where ever there is an imbalance. The people I've done energy healing on have told me, on several occasions, they felt warmth, tingling, etc in other parts of their body where I wasn't working on at the time. Micheal, the one thing I've observed and learned from my teachers in jr high, high school, college and tech school is, the things you have learned from your teacher are not always accurate nor, are they the end all/be all in that field of study. Some of the things your teacher (s) taught you in your reiki clases are always going to conflict with what other's teachers have taught them. The difference between a great teacher/master and a closed minded one is to realize that you will never know everything about anything in life. And, being willing to learn from others does not make you less of a teacher or master. It makes you a wiser person in general. I hope you don't think I'm trying to be a know-it-all because, trust me, I don't!!! lol. Deb, just remember that your instincts, as well as your clients/recipients of energy healing will let you know what is or isn't working or is uncomfortable and you'll do fine. And the reason I wish to use crystals is for the same basic reason Pat mentioned; they will enhance the healing effects of what you are doing at the time. I've also done distance healing a couple of times with some success. But, the traditional chinese medicine techniques I use do not include symbles so, I've never learned or used any, so far. Wow! I didn't intend on writing a whole chapter lol. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in. Take care Ray , Pat Hoffert <patricia.hoffert wrote: > > I heartily disagree. Guest guest
I have practiced Reiki since 1994 and taught since 1995. I have done a great many treatments and attunements. My Manuals which are available on the internet are among the most used and most respected Thousands of people have sent me their experiences and feedback in the actual practice of Reiki . Both that feedback and my own practice have proven to me beyond all doubt that metal is not an obstacle nor impediment in any way to the flow of Reiki . Nor is metal an impediment to the receptiveness of the practitioner in relations to client issues. One may be concerned with the comfort of the client and the practitioner and thus remove jewelry where practical but the metal and jewelry itself does no harm, and may in fact give supportive energies to the treatment. I have myself given treatments to a lot of people who have had non removable jewelry or metal in the form of medical devices. I received hundreds of treatments during the year I wore a metal leg brace, My youngest daughter has received many Reiki treatments while wearing a back brace. I have treated a number of people with so much metal on them that they could not go outside in thunderstorms, Even people in full suits of armor ( SCA) and fully armed Police officers in Riot gear have been successfully treated with Reiki on many occasions . My spouse is a retired Federal Police officer ( Captain and District Commander actually )as well as a Reiki Practitioner who has treated hundreds of on duty Police officers. Neither Metal nor Jewelry interfere with Reiki treatment expectations can limit or interfere with Reiki treatment. There many occasions when crystals can support Reiki treatment Sometimes I use crystals with Reiki sometimes I don't, it depends on the particular situation. Guest guest
WOW Peggy! If that doesn't prove my point I don't know what will lol. Having been trainded in electonics, I understand the principles of energy flow through and around metals. Although chi, ki, prana, etc...is not electricity, the flow is very similar. The only time metal is any problem medically is if it's going to block the view of x-rays, CT scans or be of any danger like with MRIs, do to the extreamly powerful electro magnetic field. It would be greatly appreciated, Peggy, if you could send me a link to your website via email as well as some tips on starting a website like yours. I would like to start one that is geared more towards traditional chinese medicine (but not exclusively) for sharing experiences and info as well. I have a but can't do much with it. And since it doesn't get much exposure it just sits there collecting cyber dust lol. Also, if I may ask, how did you and your husband get started in reiki treatments?
