Reiki Question

Hi Glaucely:

 

Where did you hear that Reiki flows counterclockwise? I have been working with

Reiki for around seven years, and although I will admit I have not done any

studying of this specifically, I have never heard this. The only time I am

aware of using the energy in a counterclockwise fashion is by focusing with

symbols, and that is more of a winding up than a counterclockwise movement. The

energy itself does not do it.

 

Reiki is an energy that has a sort of alternate flow to the current, as opposed

to a direct flow. It starts when it wants and can vary greatly in

concentration, although most people report heat and tingling, both practitioners

and receivers.

 

Could you clarify a little bit more about what you are asking, and perhaps your

lineage of Reiki so that I can have a better idea where this information is

coming from?

Hi Caroline and Glaucely,

 

When I was first taught Reiki in 1992, I was taught that the energy is a

white light, counterclockwise spiraling energy. My RM who taught this was

taught by Virginia Samdahl (who I was told was very, very precise in her

teaching) (Lineage is Reiki Alliance). The one connection I see is the

spiral within the ChoKuRei...counterclockwise spiral.

 

One of my students during his first attunement also saw the energy come in

as a white light in a counterclockwise spiral - and this was without being

told anything about it beforehand.

 

We were also taught that, with Reiki, to " put the energy in " to always use

counterclockwise spiral movements and that to use clockwise spiral movements

would " take energy out " .

 

Of course this makes it confusing with other energy work where to " take out "

you would use counterclockwise movements and to put in, clockwise.
