Guest guest
Hi Crow There's a theatre exercise about trust ... it may be a million miles from what you want, but here it is. An exercise for two or more people. Have one person stand with her back to the other (ie so they're both facing the same way). The person in front has to fall backwards like a toppling statue (ie straight, not crumpling) and let the other catch her. It's VERY scary the first time. To let yourself fall backwards , no matter how many assurances your companion gives you, is against all instincts. There's the I'm-too-heavy fear, the you-won't-catch-me fear, and the horrible fear of not knowing what's behind you. And falling like that is unnatural! It's a great exercise. You can do it with more than two, with all the catchers round the faller in a circle, and catching and pushing on the 'statue' at will. The statue has to trust and let go - just go with her catchers' whims. Try it! Arabella
