Hi Folks:

I'm passing this along in case you hear about it from another news source. We

received information today that is acquiring eGroups, which had acquired

ONElist before that. (do I sense a trend here?)

I am going on the assumption, as was posted to the moderators, that we will have

more information as things move along, so we need not set our hair on fire and

run buck in the streets yet.

Here is the press release URL from . I'll keep you updated.

Hi Caro,

you wrote: " so we need not set our hair on fire and run buck in the streets

Could you please iluminate me? I don't quite understand the reason of your

comments. As i am living outside the US, maybe i'm missing something,

otherwise, it just looks like a company bought another. (i hate it when i

don't " catch it " :-] )

Thanks in advance.

Hi Alain:

is an international concern. They are in the habit of buying out other

companies, and several have had difficult transitions with the takeovers. I have

already gone through a bit of a trial when eGroups bought ONElist, although I

tried to make it as seamless as possible for you, the members. Now has

bought eGroups.

And I am committed to attempt the same with any changes that may occur as a

result of this new change in administration.

Often when there are changes something happens that somebody is not happy with.

Last time we lost our digests in the archives. Who knows what will happen this

time. It's also much easier for you to remain blissfully ignorant than for me to

enlighten you on what could go wrong and have you biting your nails ;-)

So, enough said.
