Hi Folks:

Since I've gotten the last two posts completed, I'm going to start posting the

full series of chakra posts again, starting with the Root. As always, if you

have any comments or questions, please feel free to post for discussion! I will

be posting the repeats about twice a week.

The Root or Base Chakra

Location: at the base of the spine and opens out between the legs in

the perineum, facing the ground.

Spinal Nerve Plexus: Coccygeal

Glands: Adrenals

Body Parts: Legs, Buttocks, Bones (structure & support)

Sanskrit Name: Muladhara

Element: Earth

Color Vibration: Red

Keynote Vibration: Middle C

Focus: Grounding, Safety and Survival

Stones: Red stones (garnet, ruby, etc)

Incense: Cedar

Foods: Proteins

Affirmations: I am Present, I am Safe, I am Thriving

Disorders: hemorrhoids, constipation/diarrhea, obesity, depression,

dissociation, attention deficit, clumsiness, bone disorders, sciatica,

knee problems, foot problems, failure to thrive, weakness, paranoia,

multiple personality, sociopathy

When we are well connected to the earth and our root chakra is

functioning properly, we feel secure, grounded, well connected to our

bodies and aware that we are alive. Some manifestations of a blocked

or malfunctioning root may be minor, such as clumsiness (repeated

injuries to knees and ankles, stubbing toes, for instance) and some

may be very severe, such as loss of moral filters (sociopathy) or bone

disorders like osteomalacia or osteoporosis. Obesity may be due to

subconscious attempts to ground through eating, or weight the body

down.

In order to keep the root healthy, it is important to focus on the

positive aspects of being alive and present in an incarnate body,

consume nutrients in a conscious way, and allow ourselves time and

privacy to eliminate properly. If clumsiness is a problem, paying

attention to the mechanics of movement may be useful; Tai Chi or

martial arts training, yoga or gymnastics can support the root.

Walking barefoot, sitting on the ground, and communing with nature are

all helpful to renew our attachment to the earth element, and wearing

the color red, especially as underwear or footwear, can assist in

grounding. When doing healing work with the root, music in the key of

C, along with red filtered light or red gemstones will support the

process.

I was interested to read the traditional Indian correspondances also

include animals. The " root animals " in that tradition are the

elephant, ox, and bull.

Caroline,

Thanks for the review, I personally use many of these correspondences in my

own direct Chakra work.

I also work to include a unitary perspective into my energy work. Modern

medicine limits itself to treating diseases and conditions, which they often

call problems. I look at diseases and conditions as symptoms of problems within

the entire life field. I find direct Chakra work to be fundamentally necessary

but limited to those specifics associated with the particular Chakra.

In dealing with unitary pattern manifestations of the human energy field, I

use the Chakra correspondences you have listed for treating specific events in

the clients life. I also use the following correspondences for affecting the

entire " Root or Base Life Field Manifestations " :

Imagery: a young woman, crowned and throned

Names of Power: Adoni/Adonath ha Aretz (Lord/Lady of Earth), Adonai Malekh

(Lord King)

Archangel: Sandolphon

Angels: Kerubim, the Strong

Planet: Earth (like the element)

Virtue: Discrimination

Vice: Inertia

Titles: The Gate, Kallah, The Bride, The Gate of Death, Inferior Mother,

Gate of Justice, Malkah, Queen, Gate of Tears

Spiritual Experiences: Vison of the Holy Guardian Angel, Vision of Totem

Animal Spirit

Diety color: Yellow

Archangel Colors: Ochre, Russet, Olive, Black

Angel colors: Ochre, Russet, Olive, Black flecked with gold

Planetary Color: Black, rayed with yellow

Symbols: Altar of the Double Cube, Triangle of Art, Equal-armed Cross, Magic

Cube

Deities: Earth and Grain Dieties per individual cultural preference (Pan,

Ceres, Demeter, Geb, Marduk, Nisaba, Myrddin, etc.......)

Precious Stone: Rock crystal

Plants: Willow, Lily, Ivy

Perfume: Dittany of Crete

Illusion: Materialism

Obligation: Discipline

Briatic: Stability

For specific problems, as listed in Caroline's post, I use the correspondences

she listed to bring relief. Then I use the above to assist the person in

changing life patterns that lead to specific problems.

Hope I didn't ramble on too much and that some might find these helpful.

Blessings and Light,

Lightseeker........
