Guest guest
It was my birthday on Thursday (42!), and I was given a necklace of haematite. What does it do? Is this a fab piece of synchronicity? The friend who gave it to me is very anti everything non-orthodox (she even denies vitamins!!), but perhaps she has been prompted, unwittingly, by her long-denied instincts! Anyway, I'm grateful, and would love to know more about haematite and what this very beautiful necklace is doing for me. Arabella
Guest guest
Abs: Happy Birthday!!! Here is a site that has some lore about hematite. Despite what it says, however, hematite is not the same as bloodstone, although that is what hematite means, literally. So the references to old sources do not apply. Bloodstone is typically dark green or rust colored, or a mixture of the two. Hematite is heavy, shiny graphite grey/black (occasionally with flecks of red, the oxidizing iron), sort of like marcasite in looks. http://www.witchs-brew.com/shadows/stones/hematite.html There seem to be other interpretations for hematite... here is one for a power bracelet: http://www.giftcrafters.com/powerhem.html Birthday Hugs, Crow Arabella McIntyre-Brown wrote: > > It was my birthday on Thursday (42!), and I was given a necklace of > haematite. Guest guest
Oooh, happy birthday!! Hematite has a very nice energy, and is very grounding (which can be a very good thing!) It can also help in integrating the ideal flow into the physical level... taking the ideal blueprint down to day to day life, and making the energies something we can work with on a day to day basis. Does that make sense? There is a wonderful book that gives information on all different kinds of stones called Crystal CoCreators. It's by Dorothy Roeder, but it's actually a channeled work. It's a spectacular resource. I would recommend it to anyone interested in working with the mineral kingdom. Have fun with your hematite! Guest guest
Is there a good online resource to purchase this and other crystals? Debbie >Oooh, happy birthday!! Guest guest
You know, I've looked for crystal resources online, and I have yet to find a good one. Most of the specimens I've seen have been extremely pricey, and would be much cheaper in a store. Also, when you order online, you never know what you're getting. I would highly recommend finding a shop near you, where you can look through all that they have, and see what appeals to you. Where do you live? I can help you find some online listings of shops in your area, if you like. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I've not posted here for a while, so a warm hello to all new members and good to see you all again to those who know me. On haematite, i've been reading through the various posts and thought I'd add my own. I always use haematite together with a lighter stone. If wearing it on its own, i'd advise only wearing it for short periods, when it is needed. I will admit to not being a big fan of haematite, and at times when choosing a grounding stone, I will go for something like obsidian ... but the bracelet I am wearing at the moment consists of moonstone chips & 3 heamatite pentacles. And that is only because the ring & star beads which make up the pentacle, were only available in haematite, were they available in another stone i'd have chosen that. But even so, I find that when I come home at night, the bracelet is the first item to be taken off, my necklaces stay on until bedtime. As with all crystals, listen to your instincts - ask the heamatite to tell you the best periods you can wear it, or if you wear it often, to let you know when you need a break from it (personally, i've found my crystals will go walkabout when a few days if I'm using them needlessly, or a piece of jewellery may break etc) light love, reiki & crystal blesings Hazel _______________ Choose an Internet access plan right for you -- try MSN! http://resourcecenter.msn.com/access/plans/default.asp
Guest guest
What an interesting observation. I have had a problem with a necklace my son loves. It is Hematite and will not stay strung. He wants to wear it daily and have restrung it so many time already. I guess he does not need it and is trying to tell us. Guest guest
Hi Sandy, > It is Hematite and will not stay strung. He wants to wear it daily and have restrung > it so many time already. I guess he does not need it and is trying to tell us. A long time ago I bought a hematite ring, and the woman who sold it to me said that when its work was done, or when I no longer needed it, the ring would simply break or fall off. Looks like your son doesn't need the hematite energy. - - - - - Janie Walk softly, Live gently ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ To receive everything, one must open one's hands and give. ~ Taisen Deshimaru
Guest guest
How interesting!! He also had a ring...it broke...and two bracelets. they have come unstrung. He definately does not need the energy then! Iknow it called to him at one time...guess the work is done for now. And they can rest. Thank you all!!
