An interesting thing happened to me yesterday on my way to receive a massage. I

was early. I decided to spend 20 minutes at the library that I rarely visit. I

seem to be the Barnes & Noble type. Maybe it's the coffee, I don't know. Well,

anyway as I was browsing the new releases, fellow list member Ken Dychtwald's

name popped out at me. His new book, Age Power was up for grabs, so I grabbed

it. I went for my massage and would you believe, after I found my glasses in my

bleary post massage state, the first thing I laid my eyes on was a dog earred

copy of Ken's book Bodymind!

Well, the universe doesn't have to hit me on the head twice, I learned to pay

attention a long time ago. Last night I read the first chapter of Age Power and

boy do I have to say (is this any surprise?), I am in the right place! Not only

did I find the cultural aspects of the way aging has changed, but the practical

aspects are interesting as well. Ken presents the information in a manner that

was thought provoking and timely.

I am ready for the aging population to find their way to my massage table. I'm

ready to deliver a good massage to my fellow baby boomers who will soon take

over the world. In fact, we all need to take a look at where our culture is

going. Demographically speaking, there are niche markets galore for an

enterprising massage therapist, tai chi teacher, elder oriented travel agents,

caretakers of home and hearth, etc. Things are about to change drastically based

on the aging population.

Thanks, Ken for your vision and insight. I look forward to finishing this book.
