Guest guest
Well, I went by B & N tonight, and sat with both books for a while...I found " A Course In Miracles " by the Foundation for Inner Peace, which threw me off, because I thought it was written by Marianne W. It seems that she wrote a book complementing " A Course In Miracles " ...I still plan to check hers out, but they didn't have it at the store. As for the original " A Course... " , I found that it was not written for me. It was very dense, and the material was a little too cryptic, IMO...I also didn't like the type of thin paper used in the book, and the numbering of each sentence. All these things added up to a tough read, which I decided to forego. I also decided to wait on " A Return to Love " until I read her " A Course In Miracles " ...I don't know why I had the urge to do this, but it just seemed to be the right thing to do. I did end up picking up some nice books which I can't wait to dig in to: The Power of Twelve: Achieving 12-Strand DNA Consciousness by Anne Brewer, Conversations With God Book 1 Guidebook, Ken Wilber's A Brief History of Everything, and last but surely not least, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. The first two seem to tie in with what I'm already doing in my life at this time, and are natural extensions, and the latter two just call out to me each and every time I go to a bookstore, so I decided to finally pay attention and take them home! LOL Anyway, let me know what you find when you dig into them! Love, Jen --- Kim Beckett <Dolphinn wrote: > Jen, > > I've been thinking the very same thing! Guest guest
Jennifer, I love how you said certain books have called out to you! I always say a quick prayer before entering a bookstore for God to lead me to the book I need and He always does! Also, I firmly believe that there is energy in the written word and if that is not energy that you need at the time you will not be inclined to read it. You should never feel guilty about not reading something that everyone is telling you that you should: when you need the info you will be dying to read the book. Follow your heart and you will always be led where you need to go. jackie PS> I love Marianne Williamson!

It's really wonderful how it works, isn't it? I must admit, I was a wee bit disappointed that ACIM didn't appeal to me more, because I doubt now that I will ever read it, but I have heard so much about it, and I felt as if I'm missing out on something...but of course that's not even possible! There is as much truth contained in a cloud as there is in any book ever written. It's just a matter of being willing to experience it. BTW, I just ordered the Return To Love audiobook. Is that a good first choice to go with? I always want to be " introduced " to an author appropriately... thanks, Jen --- kayelle42 wrote: > Jennifer, > I love how you said certain books have called > out to you! Guest guest
Jen, A Return To Love is a great book! I really hop you enjoy it! Also, don't feel bad if you never read ACIM> I too, feel that I will never read that book. But, I feel that if you read Marianne Williamson, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Neale Donald Walsh, etc. you have read ACIM. All of these wonderful authors are talking about the same things in different ways. You will read the ones that speak the message to you in the way you can understand. After all. the Truth is the Truth is the Truth no matter how it is presented. Happy Reading! jackie
