Guest guest
Michelle, Barbara Brennan School of Healing, as you probably are aware,is one of the most expensive schools. when i have the time, i want to complete the Healing Touch International Program. It is in stages, and modestly priced, compared to BB School. congrats on your decision to return to get another degree. i keep trying on that idea, a Masters in Counseling. good luck to you both. Kimberlee, Good question. I have a similar experience with low paying jobs, etc. And I have a college degree! I wanted to attend the Barbara Brennan School of Healing and encountered similar money and time issues. I know this feedback doesn't necessarily help you. I'm planning on returning to school for an M.S.Ed. in Psych this fall. I still would like to attend a educational program in healing at some point. I think sometimes of those Matthew Lesko books and ads regarding finding money to finance your dreams. I'd be interested to hear what others have to say on this subject area. Guest guest
I can fully endorse the Healing Touch program (I am a bit biased, since I am a certified practitioner and teach Level I :-) If you are interested in looking into HT, however, check out their website, http://www.healingtouch.net and read a bit more about them. If I'm not mistaken, Michelle has taken HT? There is a weekend class, Level IIB, that is based on Barbara Brennan's work and is very well received. It was a life changing experience for me and has been wonderful every time I've repeated it. There is not general funding for HT, but there are options for scholarships and reductions for membership in AHNA, the holistic nurses' association, or Healing Touch International. Guest guest
There are grants to be had. One just needs to be creative and resourceful. If you are already living on a low income there's plenty of help to be found. If you are seeking a degree in something unconventional, it is easier to get a degree in something conventional that is closely related say counselling, first. Then you broaden your scope for networking and finding alternative funding. http://community.webtv.net/Talks-withtrees/PrayerChain
