Guest guest
Thanks, Caroline. I wondered when I was deleting stuff if I would be struck by lightning, or something. Should I normally put my post on top, bottom, or follow the person I'm specifically replying to? Does it make any difference? Is it better to use just " reply " or " reply all. " I need you as a list instructor. 'preciate the help. Guest guest
Carl: Check your address block on your posts; if you see an address more than once (or the addresses of many people) then try deleting all the unnecessary addresses. This is a problem on some lists when you " reply to all " too many times on a message thread; people start getting several copies of everything. This list is set to default and send all messages to the list, but even then the address gets " doubled " sometimes. Just check your addresses before you press " send " and that should solve any problems. Thanks! Caroline PS: This is not just for you, Carl :-) Could folks try to be a little more vigilant with changing their subject lines, so we can follow the threads more easily? Thanks!! Be sure to yell at me if I do anything to screw up the system. I've always had a board at my site...and ended up doing a level of therapy I didn't think possible before it happened. We loose many parts of communication with this blank-text format, but on the other hand, we also loose some shackles--and it almost turns out to equalize the value of the one communication system over the other (can't do hypnosis, tho). Maybe shrinks won't have to fork over half their revenues to those greedy leasing companies anymore? Hoo nose? Guest guest
LOL... I am glad to help as much as I can with " Netiquette " , although I am sure I am nobody's Miss Manners ;-) It does help to shave the content a bit (especially for readers of the digest) when replying to a post. And I like to read responses at the top of the quoted material for the most part, unless it is set up like this: <quoted material response <quoted material response Some people have trouble following that, though, and lose track of who said what pretty quickly. Email is certainly an inexact mode of communication; too bad we can't all have our own color and font, or some form of inflection that makes emotions easier to communicate. Ah, well. Technology is moving so quickly... I started using a " comic strip " chat room last weekend, where all the members were characters with emotive faces. We may not be far from a better format than blank text for our forums :-) Blessings, Crow Carl Weisbrod wrote: > > Carl Weisbrod <askcarl > > Thanks, Caroline.
