Guest guest
Bodymind list: I have a question about, I don't know how to describe, other than to call it a sort of phantom sensation. For years I've had this feeling of a tight band or clamp around the toes of my left foot. There is nothing visably wrong, but the feeling is always there, with or without shoes and socks. sometimes it can be a bit annoying. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is there a known cause for it? Is there an appropriate, smaller chakra/meridian point that needs to be worked on? Vivian

There are some tests that either a orthopedic doc or a neurologist can do to figure out the cause of that kind of symptom. It could be either a foot problem or something " referred " from another part of your body. I'll bet your primary care doctor would know where to send you to get this checked out. My suggestion would be to NOT accept any kind of treatment from anyone until you have a solid diagnosis. I believe a major problem in health care is treatment without a diagnosis-- including alternative health care. Old injuries, pinched nerves, meridian blockages, chakra blockages, auric, etheric, or astral blockages or attachments and the list goes on. My advice would be to ask yourself what is causing it while in meditation or before falling asleep, then pay attention to any impressions you receive no matter how weird, unimportant or confusing they may seem. Write them down & eventually they will probably form a pattern or make some type of sense. As to your question, yes there are a lot of pressure points on the feet. Many Many Many. One of the best ones to get energy to release with is below the big toe and towards the center of the body. If you continue down over the ball or pad where the bone is there is another one there as well. It's hard to describe locationwise here on the puter. If you feel around and press hard with your thumb you will find them. Feels like electricity and can be rather sensitive. Of course, there is always Reiki which helps in some way with just about everything. (course, I would say that cause I love Reiki anyways.) Guest guest
Linda: Thanks very much for the pressure point tip. I have a couple of books that show small illustrations of feet meridians. It feels neurological, either spine or right brain hemisphere. I'm asking the information about meridian points because I need an alternative to meet, where vitamins/herbs/nutrition, may be unable to help. I'd love to go to a really good aura reader, but I'm temporally constrained economically, in time, and scheduling. Have an appointment with my intuitive medical practitioner. In the past I would forget to mention about the foot feeling. thanks very much for your help, Vivian > Dear Vivian, > Phantom sensations can be caused by a variety of different sources. > Old injuries, pinched nerves, meridian blockages, chakra blockages, auric, > etheric, or astral blockages or attachments and the list goes on. > My advice would be to ask yourself what is causing it while in meditation > or before falling asleep, then pay attention to any impressions you receive > no matter how weird, unimportant or confusing they may seem. Guest guest
Carl: Thank you very much for your help and a perspective on the source of the problem. The problem is of a neurological source and can be taken care of by other than the usual traditionl medical care. As wonderful a health tool as it is, MRIs are not yet developed to the point of always showing very fine nerve damage. Working with chakras and meridian/pressure points seems to help in some areas that our traditional medical communities are not yet able to treat. Thank you for your contribution, Vivian
Guest guest
Very true, Vivian. I seldom go to doctors--I'm very critical of the profession, especially for chronic conditions. What I do like to use them for, tho, is a diagnosis, cuz they excel at that. Are you sure what you are describing is a nerve problem? During my years in the shrink biz I saw so many problems that could have been corrected... often I made physicians angry for sending referrals back for a more thorough work-up. A better diagnostic tool than the MRI is the experienced doc that has kind of " seen it all " and can come up with some good ideas relying on past observations of gazillions of symptoms--sometimes the computerized tomography stuff is more for confirmation... same idea as psychological testing is in my field. I never used a psy test for a diagnosis, but only to confirm what I already suspected. Just some thots!
