Dream during Acupuncture Session - need input - LONG

Hi all! I had a very interesting experience yesterday at my acupuncture

session and was hoping that we might be able to discuss what potential

meanings that this may have.

 

Just to give you a little background - I know that when I was young, that I

used to have vivid dreams - in color. Somewhere in my late teens, I stopped

having dreams in color. The last time I had a visual dream was when I was

about 23 or 24 years old. I don't know why, don't recall any traumatic

incidents in my teens or twenties which may have caused it. I have never

been able to visualize anything. When I dream, I recall only talking, no

pictures.

 

Here is the email which I have just sent to my acupuncturist to see if she

may have any ideas. I would appreciate it if anyone in the group who knows

about symbolism and dreams might give me some feedback as well. Thank you

Hi Fumika! I wanted to relay something that happened during my treatment

yesterday. I was still a little out of sorts when I left, so I didn't tell

you about it then. Could you tell me what you think of this?

 

Normally, I don't see things when my eyes are closed. Even in dreams I don't

recall 'seeing' things, just remember events in the dream.

 

After you had me turn over onto my back and placed the needles in for me and

left the treatment room, I guess that I went very deeply into either sleep or

a meditative state. I noticed that all of a sudden, in the dark (from my

eyes being closed) there was a grid of light lines - creating squares (all

even sided). When I 'looked' closer, the lines were actually acupuncture

needles all lined up. At no point did the needles actually touch one

another, but came very close to each other I could see the different colored

coil on the one end, and the needle on the other end of each side of a

square. It looked like a black tile floor or wall with mostly white grout in

between the tiles. I seemed to move back from the grid, and then the tiles

instead of forming squares, were now forming six sided figures. Then the

center of the grid moved, and formed a sort of a tunnel or vortex. Which I

then started going through - not because I could seen anything but the grid,

but I appeared to be moving through a tunnel created by this grid. Then a

whitish colored cloud appeared up above me (I could not see any part of

myself, only the grid, then this cloud appeared above me. The tunnel was not

straight, but appeared to be curved, so I could not see anything which might

be further down the tunnel. There was no appearance of light in the tunnel,

the black appeared to be solid, but the grid lines appeared to be moving all

around me as though I were going through a tunnel. Then, I very distinctly

heard your voice saying 'Karen, it is time to come back now.' The white

cloud turned into an almost grayish color, and the grid lines changed shape

and gave more the appearance of being a spider's web. I then opened my eyes,

and you knocked on the door to come in and wake me up - so you were not even

in the room with me.

 

Is there anything in your training which would have an interpretation of this

for me? I am very interested in what the geometric lines might be

interpreted as, why they would be in the shape of acupuncture needles,

instead of some other substance. Why would the lines go into a spider web

shape when your voice brought me out of it, and why would I hear your voice

so distinctly, when you were not in the room or talking to me?
