Introduction

Hello to You All,

I have been lurking for a few weeks now having just joined the list

prior to going on vacation. Unlike Marie, (hello in Ireland!) I chose to

wait until I returned so I could share a workshop I attended with you.

First, a little about myself. I work as a Psychiatric Nurse in the

interior of British Columbia. I also have my level 2A Healing Touch and am

priviledged to be able to use this modality in my place of work. I work for

the Government and I believe we are on the cutting edge of the use of Energy

Based Healing in Mental Health. I feel blessed to be working where I do. I

hope to get my level 2B this fall.

I am fascinated with the bodymind connection and specifically

Shamanism and Dreamwork. I just completed a workshop in the Kootenay region

of B.C. called Boundaries, Self and Soul Retrieval. It was facilitated by a

Cultural Anthropologist and a Psychologist, having a Shamanistic focus. I

was overwhelmed by how powerful this work is and how grounded as well.

Doing the work with two women who have their PhD's and have taught at the

University of British Columbia added to the credibility for me. I would

like to learn much more and was very interested in the posts on Shamanism I

read a while back on BodyMind.

I have taken a couple of courses in Jungian Dreamwork and feel there

is an integration point with Dreams and Shamanism. I am very much a

neophyte in these areas and am sopping up any information that is sent my way.

David, the prose and quotes you have contributed are quite moving.

I too am just going to have to buy that book!!
