Guest guest
Hello to my fellow listmates, I have been lurking for quite a while from my computer in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and I finally have something that I would like some feedback on. I am attending Matthew van der Giessen's " Somatic Arts Institute " Somatic Practitioner program. Lately, I have noticed when working on some clients that I will get a tickle in the back of my throat that sometimes leads to some disconcerting and annoying bouts of coughing. I then ask the client if they are experiencing any discomfort at the place i have been working and about 99% of the time the answer is in the affirmative. Has anyone had this type of experience or close to it? How do you deal with it? Well, that explains it all! <LOL> If you speak to Matthew, please send my regards. He is a well-missed former member of the Body_Work discussion list and is very knowledgeable and erudite. It must be a pleasure to attend his school. > Lately, I have noticed when working on some clients that I will get a > tickle in the back of my throat that sometimes leads to some disconcerting > and annoying bouts of coughing. Many people who do body and energy work experience sensations in their own bodies that may reflect what is happening with their client in one way or another. This one seems relatively mild, although annoying; compared to mirroring symptoms (empathic pain or emotional waves) it seems preferable, though! This may or may not seem strange to you, but this is my suggestion: since I would guess it must be energetic rather than physical, your guides can help you by giving you a more tolerable signal. A particular tone or sound might be less disconcerting. If you meditate, put that thought out to your " higher self " that you would like to continue to be aware of your client's discomfort, but using your chosen signal over the feathers in the throat routine. If it works for you, let us know! -- Blessings, Crow " Look for Rainbows in the Darkness " --
