Any ideas for me? > Well, Pat.... First we have to fix your problem with the archives! When you log into ONElist with your email addy and password, look on the right hand page for the lists you belong to. Click on Body_Work and a menu will pop up that includes the archives, along with the shared files, and the member profiles. Have fun :-) Now, for hypertension.... high blood pressure is related to the adrenals, and that is the gland of the solar plexus. HTN is what I call a " type A " issue, related to perfectionism, frustration, and anger. Literally " hyper " and " tension " . The blood vessels are so tense and inflexible that the pressure of the blood has to increase to get it through. The heart has to work harder. Manny & I both have familial hypertension. We are both also very ethnic and like to yell a lot. I think it helps, as long as it is venting and not ranting. Self-esteem is a big issue here, learning to release attachments to the approval of others and to perfection. Sometimes there is a history of emotional abuse (you're lazy, stupid, clumsy, fill_in_the_word_that_makes_you_cringe_here). Create positive affirmations for yourself that negate that old programming, and put them on your refrigerator, on your bathroom mirror, on your rearview, on your computer. Read and repeat them often. And give yourself permission every so often, to have a " sloppy day " . Don't wash the dishes, don't shave, don't do your hair, lay around in your skivvies and " be " ... step off the " do " track, in other words. You wouldn't think that would be difficult, but it really is deceptively easy. Give it a try, and when you pop up to sort the clothes or scrub the toilet, make yourself sit down again. It's an exercise in zen that will eventually help that blood pressure to get low and stay low. During a hypertensive crisis, while you're waiting for your medication to kick in, practice deep breathing and the warming hands exercise I described in the heart chakra post... rub your hands together to stimulate them, and press them over the upper abdomen. Feel the heat from your hands as you are taking those deep breaths. Close your eyes and tell yourself you're beautiful. Hey, you are, aren't you? :-) -- Blessings, Crow " Look for Rainbows in the Darkness " --
